Re: Raggedy Man(Gravitation) - Demo Tape/Rarities/Freestyles

Thank You very much! In My Army days in the mid to late ninties one of my homies from Newark used to tell me about Raggedy Man all the time. i wish Gravitation would have done more as a group, could you imagine at least an EP of songs like "Waiting To Exhale" with B-Wiz (R.I.P.) on the beats......t...

Geto Boys, out of all of them http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/98/Makingtrouble.jpg/220px-Makingtrouble.jpg You would've had to have been living in Houston during the release of this album to really appreciate it. Wow!

Dude is really knocking down a Rothschilds descendent! I have a whole new respect for him. Don't really care for his music, though. On another note, the thing that has always bothered me about Jay-Z is his lack of balls artistically. Dude has never tried to expand artistically. He goes out of his wa...

Ridin Dirty.

I can understand why many prefer Super Tight to Ridin Dirty. Ridin Dirty was really a more local album as far as topics and nuances when compared to Super Tight. What I mean by that is, Ridin Dirty was heavily influenced by Screw tapes, giving the listener a glimpse of the Houston lifestyle that was...

I'm a fan of both artists, their albums, and their battle.
But Casual has been consistently dope since Fear Itself.

Boxcar Sessions has great moments, but is all over the place sonically.

Appreciate the info. Always wondered what happened to him and Ric after Boss. They were supposed to drop the Ukfe Uyay project that had a big buzz here in Houston back in '93. But it was never released.

Past influence.

I stumbled across Myspace some time ago, and discovered that Elite Al B. of Rap-a-Lot's Royal Flush fame is involved w/Slow Motion Sounds in some facet. I don't know if he's the owner or what. But it made me give G-Side a listen, and I could see some old school influence that may have come from Al B.

The Mutha'fuckin Coup!

I would say Boots' precision is one of his good points. I bought every album except Pick a Bigger Weapon, which, to me, was the best album of '05/'06. My roommate bought it, so I jammed his. I didn't care for the production on Party Music. But Pick a Bigger Weapon had a sound that reminded me of Pri...

Much of the early groundbreaking material that ppl were banging back in the late 80's/early 90's tends to get left out when the press is documenting The H-Town music scene.

I have to go w/Rino for the simple fact of watching him in action during the lunchroom battles back in high school. Dude was rapping when there was no real future in it.
