Re: Old School & New UK Hip Hop

Not sure if anyone on here is old enough to remember him but veteran UK hip hop DJ Mike Allen has passed away .
Before Westwood he was mainly responsible for introducing thousands of kids to hip hop in the mid 80s with has show on Capital radio which was networked across the country.

Yeah definitely around 96 / 97 . Albums were starting to sound like compilation LP's with all the different producers . And around this time people started being labelled 'haters' for critiquing some of the borderline pop stuff coming out. Plus radio stations like Hot 97 were brainwashing everyone w...

For me easily his worst album . Would rather listen to electric circus .
Whats with this new trend of deliberately making beats as boring as fuck.

They should just scrap RZA and get Apollo Brown to do the beats . The stuff he did on the Ghostface remix album fitted the Wu perfectly.

Has anyone been watching this? Pretty good heist drama on BBC. Once again Ashley walters is showing his acting skills are much better than his rapping skills were.
