this album is really good. the beats are like a psychadelic collage of samples and breaks, reminds me a bit of pharcyde's first album crossed with 'blowout comb'. I know someone who claims to have a white-label promo of this on gold vinyl (but they might be lying. anyone heard of this promo?)

Re: New Blends: AZ - A.W.O.L - Hydra Beats

I think this one gives it much more of a classic 'Doe Or Die' type feel. see what you think anyway. i'm trusting you and downloading this right now. i'll drop a comment to tell you how it was when i'll finish hearing it. thanks... been working on this one for a while so - in theory - it should be g...

I'm guessing everyone probably heard cookin'souls remix version of AWOL and I liked that but I think this one gives it much more of a classic 'Doe Or Die' type feel. see what you think anyway. drop some feedback if you're feeling it ... On the first album, Dres' delivery is solidly in the vein of De La Soul circa De La Soul is Dead , albeit a lot more nimble. By the time Non-Fiction rolls around, Dres' flow is more rugged and kind of DITC-ish, which makes sense given Black sheep's new affiliations and overall aesthetic. In fact, t...

Everything recorded by Norah Jones. I don't think I can identify a song made by her, but she seems like the kind of artists that is featured in every single ho-hum run of the mill Starbucks/Border's bookstore compilation, either piped in-store or available for purchase, and the kind of artist whose...

 That first paragraph should read: I think I listened to Non-Fiction maybe three times, ever. A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing got bumped solidly every day for 10 years after I first heard it. there's no doubt N.F has darker beats, and I prefer that. also Dres comes a lot harder (oo-err) on the mic ...

Good beats, some very good to excellent.

The rapping, by and large, is a travashamockery.
didnt " 'Ye " produce half of that? City To City has to be the best kanye beat ever. I agree the rapping is a bit dull though
