I don't post a ton... lurkalot... but had to post that this documentary was entertaining as hell. Watched in last night and the hour or so passed by like it was five minutes. Lots of interesting stories and insights, and it was great to watch the artists articulate their different experiences themse...

It's a good album - better than Born & Raised, not as good as The Realness or The True Meaning.

Oh and I mentioned this on facebook but I'll say it here as well. Your writing on this album is amazing. Delivery is perfect, content is interesting, wit is on point, and most importantly, you deliver a few lines here and there that caught me off guard and made me have to rewind mid song, which is ...

Re: Obscure Rap-A-Lot Albums?
Thanks very much guys. I have the Big Mike, Facemob, Gangsta NIP, Seagram, and OG Style... and just ordered the Wegonefunkwichamind CD for cheap. I don't have the others mentioned though - Poppa LQ, Convicts, 3-2, DMG, Menace Clan, Royal Flush, Raheem, Do or Die, 5th Ward. Anyone know of any good bl...

Obscure Rap-A-Lot Albums?
I've always liked some of the obvious Rap-A-Lot releases - Geto Boys, Devin, Scarface, Z-Ro, etc - but I know there are a ton of more obscure releases on the label. I've had the Tim Smooth album for a while, and recently picked up the Blac Monks debut, and Bone Hard Zaggin by Big Melo - both of whic...

CDs would be great - especially if releases were combined. Like, for example, the two Zigg Zagg EPs together as one.

Nice interview with Gibbs: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/2014/03/freddie_gibbs_interview.php What was your mind state when making Pinata? You know what? For the majority of that record you can see the growth in me in the lyrics. I was trying to be different to everyone else out there. That's ...

^ Great past few releases Bob. A real CD would be cool.... but if everything was available through Kunaki at a lower price, I'd probably buy everything. If real CD prices were way higher, I'd probably have to be picky about what releases i'd go for. Yeah if I didn't use Kunaki, the manufacturing co...

Re: Adagio! - The Obvious Archives Pt.1 [Heavy Jewelz Record
If it was a real definitive collection - a lot of tracks - kinda like some of the No-Sleep releases, I don't doubt that they would sell EASILY and probably for a reasonably high price. All those Cellar Sounds, O.C., Ran Reed, Godfather Don, etc collections seemed to go pretty quickly.

Got this in the mail yesterday and I like it a lot. Always though O.C. sounded best on jazzy laid-back beats, and the production on here fits him perfectly.

Re: Adagio! - The Obvious Archives Pt.1 [Heavy Jewelz Record
I agree about CDs... i cop a lot of limited vinyl but CDs for some of these releases would be great - especially where shelved albums have been released in separate EPs. I'm thinking about the Omniscence Raw Factor EPs and the Young Zee Musical Meltdown on Dope Folks... and if there are a few volume...

I'm a huge Shad fan, but so far, I can't get into this album apart from a few tracks. I'm disappointed in the production more than his verses which are as dope as always. Hoping it'll grow on me.

dope. I love the offer high quality digital downloads. I always though all the releases should offer that. Even if I buy the vinyl I'd pay for a digital dl of the master rather than ripping my own vinyl. There's will probably always sound better. Agree. This is a huge benefit, I think. I don't real...

Agree - who gives a shit what he does in his spare time? Flex came across a dickhead, making light of a situation which is obviously serious shit for his friend. But yeah, not convinced this is the whole truth, and agree that he's clearly struggling with himself. Saying "I love women, but every now ...

Not sure I like it as much as Grief Pedigree, but it's still excellent. High point for me is definitely "30 Pieces of Silver." I do agree that the production took a step forward (not a surprise at all considering how much he stepped his game up from Iron Works to Grief Pedigree), but I actually thi...
