That write up completely lost me when it dissed Bully.

Bully is nothing like what I saw in that clip, at all, and is far from "terrible."

Kanye didn't even feel this was good enough to be a Black Friday track, but this is really dope nonetheless. For some reason I thought the bear dude was a symbol for God. The way he traded for the body was like collecting a soul. And it seemed he knew the girl would need some medication soon. And everything he did was hilarious and weird. Bear dude was awesome and (think someone said this before) seemed l...

Even though lyrical lyricism isn't Kanye's strong suit, I challenge you to find 10 verses that were better, lyrically, than this one this year: Question: What color was the skin of the man who beared the cross? No matter how many lashes they couldn't beat it off How many Cassius' will we see in one ...

I wasn't just talking about year-end lists though. Gloss and Thun have been pretty big advocates of this album and neither of them are trend-hoppers or give a fuck about co-signing him as a way to generate web traffic. ICE EDIT: I don't think it's the Sgt. Pepper of Hip Hop Albums either, but it's K...

I'm going to hold off on talking more about about any of the subtext I brought up before until I see it again, but I don't think it's a leap to assume that this Western, like a lot of great Westerns (eg, The Searchers), has a lot of subtext going on beneath an ostensibly conventional story. Thinking...

I love that anyone who reads anything further into Inception other than it's face value on first viewing is a moron, yet Ice rails off stuff like this everytime the Coen's take a shit and film it. SMH. Jay's performances, including his lyrics, on "Shiny Suit Theory," "Light Up," and "Free Mason" are all great. Dude didn't exactly hold court on "So Appalled" and was the weakest link on that song, but his verse wasn't so abhorrent that it warrants people calling for his retirement.

2. ice and escobar will hail kanye as top five dead or alive on the mic. Don't know why you're bringing me into this. Thinking that Kanye is a great MC isn't some revolutionary act, brah. ***SPOILERS*** Can we get all film nerdy about this for a second and talk about subtext? There's this running thread about bartering and verbal jousting in the film, which the main character is extremely good at. Using the fight choreography and historical quibbles as a reason for saying why the movie's wack is like complaining about Travis Bickle's driving habits or that the pick-up fare rates weren't congruent with taxi fares in NYC in the 70s. Like Raging Bull, this movie focuses on a guy who is a boxer, ...

as for the movie, It was pretty poorly made and overall very typical of every movie about boxing ever :naswtf: It being "poorly made" would be the last criticism I'd think that people would come up with for this movie. The direction was superb and it was anything but typical for a sports movie. Pri...

Roc Marciano - "Scarface Nigga" & Marcberg: Re

Figure this song, and his new album, need to be unearthed from that 9 page thread and given some new light. Everyone else doing grimey, understated NYC street rap should save their energy for other pursuits (sup Raekwon). This dude has perfected the style, from the beats he makes to his voice, flow,...

It's a gothic tale in the Souf. This is a gothic tale in the Ozarks. Both are more than docudramas. That's where the comparison ends.
