If people are gonna be cum-catchers for this shit, I'm gonna provide the dissenting viewpoint. Deal with it.

Re: Marvel MCU thread
I'm not mad, personally. Even if you like these movies though, you should be very disheartened by this announcement. This type of hegemony lines the pockets of corporations and gives the masses a few hours of entertainment, but in the long run it only hurts the industry and the artform. I had a meet...

they're all so frivolous and non-sensical. dude, it's a comic book movie. it's supposed to be frivolous and nonsensical. have you tried reading the Age of Ultron storyline? there's some frivolous and nonsensical shit. Ultron takes over the world, so Wolverine and Invisible Woman (Sue Richards of th...

Re: The Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015)
No.
The last superhero movie I watched and semi-enjoyed was X-Men First Class. I tried to watch Avengers, but I turned it off halfway through because the shit made almost no sense. I tried to watch the latest Superman but I found it extremely boring.

How do you guys continue to get hyped about this shit? It's just a never-ending stream of sameness. If you ever try to watch any of these movies with even a little bit of objectiveness... they're all so frivolous and non-sensical.

Nah Ardy, you're cool. This is not about you (or Thun) as a mod. I just thought it might generate more discussion/interest/discussion if it was a thread in M2C again.

We should turn this forum back into a thread...
I am a fan of this sub-forum and am probably one of 4 or 5 posters who checks it out daily. With that said, most of these threads Ardy starts aren't even getting five views. I think when it was in the M2C forum as a single thread it generated more views and more discussion. I for one would be more v...

Re: Greatest Debut To Sophmore Album
Eminem won't get the love he deserves because of anti-white backlash, Slim Shady hasn't aged well and he has fallen off so precipitously since we left the 90's... but, to me, in terms of pure lyricism and ability to be good at rapping, those two albums are hard to beat. With that said, I gotta go wi...

It's not a great comparison, you're right. My point is it shouldn't be a surprise that people who find Drake's style flawed think that this satire is amusing...ackbar wrote:comparing it to stephen colbert is a false equivalency tho

It's sort of fitting that a bunch of dudes who think a sing-song rapper who earnestly blathers on about his feelings and girl troubles should be taken seriously, lack the requisite humor to get the joke.

Re: LIL DICKY
Why is satire so hard for people to understand? Whether this guy likes current rap or not, whether he likes Drake or not, doesn't really matter. He is CLEARLY satirizing a certain brand of Drake-esque hip hop with Lemme Freak. Those jokes aren't at all funny unless they are juxtaposed with that styl...

Nothing.
The Star Wars movies, all of them, are not very good. I get that they are important to the film industry and I get a lot of people liked them as kids, but they're shit. Adults need to let this shit go.

Re: LIL DICKY
I actually don't care enough to keep defending LD, though I do like that Lemme Freak song. To me it's crystal clear he is, in Lemme Freak at least, making fun of a certain type of modern rap, of which Drake is the defining artist. And if you dig what he's doing, it stands to reason you would dislike...
