i don't understand why we've had like at least 5 threads for the most overrated movie of 2005...there is absolutely nothing profound about this movie. I'm telling you man, read some of the posts on here and watch that shit again. Cronenberg wouldn't have been involved if it was all face value. i un...

Some great names popping up in this thread: Rob Deer, Candy Maldonado, and friggin Kevin Maas. I was in Houston the year that McGwire hit 70. This was back in the Astrodome. We get there early for batting practice. McGwire comes up and starts smoking them into the upper and lower decks<--(where we w...

Props to you crazy bastards going pro, I've known a couple of people that did, and it didn't go well. I love poker, been playing for years now. Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, Stud Hi/Lo, Razz, Hold Em etc. I almost always play NL ring games though, I'm not a huge tourney or limit fan. I don't like being ...

Since I brought it up I guess I'll respond: My intent was not to get into a debate about the merits of Smith's filmmaking, merely to say that the half hour long bitch session about Seth McFarlane was quite amusing. Yeah, I hear you. That post was more about me ranting about Kevin Smith. For the rec...

this is more wrong than throwing pennies at a train going to aushwitz. hahah. nice. Spelled Auschwitz btw. Simpsons and south park are both satires on american way of life. Simpsons focuses on the family from within, while southpark focuses on the effects of the world and pop culture on people, spe...

there's actually a scene they cut wiht ed harris and mortensen that had cronenberg written all over it. they decided to take it out because they felt it was too much of a reference to his earlier work, and was a little too crazy for the overall feel of the movie. it's on the bonus features on the d...

I also really enjoyed this film, and it stayed pretty close to the graphic novel which I read a while before the film came out. This has to be Cronenberg's most straightforward film I've ever seen. That's not a bad thing btw. Its funny because its also has the quintessential elements of a Cronenberg...

I'm kinda shocked at the amount of criticism for Family Guy. I'm equal parts impressed and disturbed at the thorough analysis of the two cartoons by you cats on here. Yeah Family Guy can be formulaic, but its pretty much the midpoint between Simpsons and South Park in almost every regard. Plus, any ...
