Starting an internet radio station

[Not sure what forum this belongs in.] Anyone have any experience or run their own station currently? Is there even a demand for internet radio when services like Spotify exist [not to mention Take It Personal and other sources of human curated content]? Licensing music for broadcasting is expensive...

Re: Where Do You Stream Music?

Here are a couple of other options that are a bit different than the typical streaming service: Plex Media Server - You run this on a computer or NAS box and it serves your media (music, movies, TV shows, photos) to your various devices (phones, smart TVs, Firestick, Roku, etc.). It's like the cloud...

Re: Where Do You Stream Music?

You say you have a huge mp3 collection and I'm sure Spotify doesn't cover some of the more obscure mp3s you have, so how do you listen to those mp3s on your phone, or do you just not have access to them on your phone at all? If so, doesn't that annoy you at least slightly? That's what my 'Plan B' a...

Re: Where Do You Stream Music?

My main issue is I really need to take the time to make my itunes immaculate. I have so many gigs of music, and it is actually pretty organized in my computers but the thought of dumping it all into itunes and tagging everything properly etc gives me a massive amount of anxiety. It would take me mo...

Re: Spotify finds thread

Know any Spotify users worth following for their playlists? I find that most user created playlists leave a lot to be desired (unfocused, uninspired, random collections of tracks with too many cliche/overexposed songs, etc.)

Pro tip: If you aren't eligible for the 30 day trial of Youtube Red (because you've already used it in the past), you can sign up for a trial of Google Play Music and it includes Youtube Red.

Spotify finds thread

Spotify is great but has a lot of gaps in their catalog and they are missing several classic hip hop albums. Here's some stuff that has become available recently: The Beatnuts - Street Level: https://open.spotify.com/album/1n2buVQqk1PzvR3YsCZdmn?si=6dEv9-b6Rnq6HvXrJqpVVQ" onclick="window.open(this.h...

Re: How many records, cds, and tapes do you own?

Virtually zero (have a few random CDs still kicking around). I sold off the bulk of my collection a few years ago and now primarily use Spotify. I didn't have a ton of CDs anyway, I think my collection was around ~200 when I decided to dump them. I still have all my MP3 rips and downloads backed up ...

Picked up PUBG on Xbox One. Only played it a handful of times, but it was fun. Have to be in the mood because it isn't exactly 'relaxing'.

cdkeys.com usually has the download key on sale for ~$20.

Remember buying the Ghetto Smile single because it had Daryl Hall on it. It was cheesy as fuck. Caved and bought one with Zelda, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Puyo Puyo Tetris (because what's a Nintendo handheld without some form of Tetris?). Would love to see a proper GTA (or RDR) spin-off.
