IMHO golden era producers were just better. The machines MPC-60s, SPs and ASR-10s etc sounded warm and lo-fi and i feel more producers embraced reverb back then. I was listening to some Q Tip and Havoc beats from the Infamous and you can tell its reverb from Ensoniq samplers, i believe Q Tip even me...
