LL's "14 Shots the Dome" - Soo underrated!
Since the first time I Heard LL Cool J's 1993 follow-up to "Mama Said" i was knocked out and to me it has stood the test of time.. i was very suprised when i came across critics and fans who felt that "14 Shots to the Dome" was a straight up weak album. To me it's an LP that, although not at all per...

Re: RICK RUBIN Compilation (1984-1989)
^ i liked three out of four Eminem songs, but they took some growing... "Marshal Mathers LP II" is probably Em's weakest LP yet - the rhyming is his best in years, but i can only listen to "Bezerk", "Rap God", "Bad Guy (Stan Pt. 2)", "Don't Front", and maybe a few others. true that, Saul Williams fi...

RICK RUBIN Compilation (1984-1989)
I've Always been a huge fan of Rick Rubin, mostly based on his work on LL Cool J's "Radio", and the debuts of The Beasties and of course "Raising Hell" by Run DMC.. As you all know he faded away much from the hip-hop scene since so although it might not be the best artists of all time - i'm real gla...

good stuff, thanks... something i found really interesting is that both Dino Brave and Roc Marciano said that the UN album was supposed to sound like "Strenght & Honor" as i found "U N Or U Out" a much more cohessive project... "UN House" and a few others are most likely outtakes from that LP. btw, ...

yeah i believe Dilla used the SP1200 a lot on the earleir Slum Village stuff like "Fantastic 1" and "2", The Pharcyde, early Ummah, "Stakes is High", etc, etc, stuff. i wouldn't shell out this much money on such a project, i think it's a bit of a shame for artists overcharging... especially thinking...

BTW, anyone have or know anything about this release - called "Notorious BIG" and supposedly released in 1994 on cassette via Uptown (supposedly as a promo for 'RTD'). never heard about it before. "Hot Butter Soul" could likely be "Warning" bc of the Isaac Hayes sample: http://www.discogs.com/Notori...

Re: New JAY DEE Box Set (40+ unreleased joints): "King Of Be
it doesn't say in the Rolling Stones article that broke the news, but i believe i read elsewhere that the majority of these are early Jay Dee beats, like the '95-'99 period, SV, Ummah type of shit you know... which is cool, because unlike the batches that made up the majority of "Jay Stay Paid" the ...
