Re: The Official NBA Draft/Offseason Thread

Comparing it to Lee's horrible contract just shows its not as bad as one of worst there is. Its the length of the contract that is huge not the amount per a year. Also, it is a new game with new CBA. Can't really compare it to contracts handed out before lockout. 4/36 Splitter 3/25 Asik 3/41 Jeffer...

Re: NBA Finals Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat

So that LeBron couldn't play in the 90s talk is dead, right? I don't remember if anyone said that he can't play in the 90's but my argument was that Jordan was a better player. I think that is most people's arguments. I still feel that way. I think most people have him in their top 2 or top 5 or to...

Meh, I'd take Wade over Kobe. r Peak easy, career no, kobe has way more longevity and it's very unlikely wade will match I think Shade has already spoke about this saying he's more of a peak than longevity guy. I mean, I respect those who can grind it out long term, and that obviously has value. Bu...

Re: The Tim Duncan Award

In name only, imo. If anything, he was a combo forward that played a PF's role and could guard anyone. If you want to take it literally, then can we call Lebron a PF this year. Positions are fucking gay anyways. But people love to label things. If we throw positions out the window, this entire thre...

Re: The Tim Duncan Award

I don't think he brought the same thing to the Bulls. I feel like Pippen and Jordan were better defenders at that point. But when he was on the Pistons and his first year or two on the spurs, he was amazing defensively. This is a man that consistently guarded Magic Johnson when the Pistons played t...

Re: The Tim Duncan Award

Completely realize the fact that Rodman was a specialist and Barkley had more responsibilities on offense but that only takes into account the offensive side of the ball and doesn't take defensive rebounding in to play. Now you can say that because of all of Barkley's responsibilities, he could hav...

Re: NBA Finals Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat

That might happen in transition, like you said, but majority of possessions Duncan won't be on LeBron just cause LeBron is covering him. I agree about Wade, he is killing them on both ends of the floor. I said before series Green would kill them from deep cause Wade cheating. On offense they are sh...

Re: NBA Finals Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat

I am not worried about the long term wear and tear, I am talking about his energy come 4th quarter. I also think getting LeBron closer to the basket (I assume you talking about on D) won't help them on offensive boards because Duncan can get boards over him. It will also probably make it even easie...

Re: NBA Finals Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat

I see the sense in it, but man is that a gamble. It does get LeBron closer to the basket, and the Spurs themselves are the template for not giving a fuck about offensive rebounds. I imagine throwing some confusion into transition D is also on their agenda, and fuck the wear and tear with a max 4 gam...

Re: The Tim Duncan Award

IDK if Rodman doesn't belong on this list either or maybe I'm arguing for the sake of arguing at this point but........ He is the best rebounder on this list and the best one on one defender on this list. Arguing for it's own sake it is: peak Barkley was a better rebounder if you factor in that he ...

Barkley, because the Mailman never threw no one through plate glass. Also, there's a longevity vs peak thing here, and I'm usually a peak guy. Malone was never as flat-out dominant as Sir Charles.

EDIT: Duncan, Chuck, Malone, KG.

Re: The Best Player from the 90's Drafts

You think the difference between Garnett and Kobe on offense is extremely small? I just don't think that the case. I think he's saying Kobe is not as much better at offense as Garnett is better at D. I'd agree: Garnett as a defender is all world, especially in the era of deep system defense. He's n...

I have no idea how much of a weight-rat he is, so it's hard to say. If he's more Karl Malone than Charles Barkley in the gym, I think he'd be smaller but thereabouts in size.

Re: NBA Finals Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat

http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_stats.html I'm saying, drop LeBron into a 1987 league (100.8 pace, 109.9 fucking points a fucking game) and he'd have a legit shot at 30 points and 10 assists per game, and once in that late 80s era he could maybe have pulled an Oscar. Even 95 (101.4 ...
