Re: The R.I.P. Thread

Sad news coming that the legendary UK hip-hop producer Insane Macbeth (Keith Rodgers) has passed away today because of leukemia. He had worked with rappers like Kinetic Effect, Icepick, Karl Hinds etc. R.I.P Are you kidding me?? I spoke with him on Youtube a few times last year about the songs he d...

Just found out Father Shaheed from Poor Righteous Teachers died from a motorcycle accident. Also Kevlaar 7 from the Wisemen passed away earlier this year.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't know Big Kap died, rest in peace to him as well, I always bump that song "Da Ladies In The House" that he put together.

RE-EDIT: Why did Centa Of Da Web never use that beat "Beyond The Beyond"?? That honestly sounds like it would be perfect for Whichcraft and Molecule's flow. Also, I gotta ask, where in the world did you get the samples for Whichcraft (Audio Data) and "Da Webs Minds". Its been bugging me for years. D...

A better question would be... Who was better, Godfather Don or scaramanga? Godfather don, imo. I know we got some scaramanga stans in here (whattup driz!) and I liked some of his stuff but his body work doesn't fuck with don's. Sorry to inta..rupt this convo here, but at the end of the day, at the ...

Re: Fat Joe Had A Lil` Beef With Masta Ace???

Ice was down with a lot of East Coast cats, like Raw Breed and their whole entourage. SLJ (or Slej Tha Ruffedge), who became part of Sa-Ra Creative Partners a few years later, used to work a lot with him in the mid-90's, and I think Marc Live was involved at one point also. Ironically, "VI" was his...

Re: Fat Joe Had A Lil` Beef With Masta Ace???

"Keepers of the funk" anyone? lol, I really like that album. The crossover west-coast stuff was a total failure, but listen to "Ready Or Not", "No Pain" and "Neva Faded", even the last 2 tracks (which were clearly filler) Yes Ya'll and What U See. Might not have aged really well, but that's authent...

Re: Fat Joe Had A Lil` Beef With Masta Ace???

I understand the point Joe was trying to make, but if you listen to Master Ace's 2nd album, a lot of the tracks are east-coast rooted heavy bass joints, there were only a few tracks that had a west-coast tinge to them. The rest was unmistakably NY.
