Re: Dexter Season 7 trailer

Was pretty excited about this season after the last episode, until I learned there is another season after this. Getting ready to drag myself through another season but I will give them the benefit of the doubt after surprising me last ep. I audibly laughed at the new black cop's death. Dexter's sch...

Last episode was shameless filler, but that means this week will be :ohsh: according to past season trends.

Gyp's people are terrified of him, no one is going to do shit to him. And the 'everybody got guns' scene was beyond great

This is already gaining a cult following. the current seems strong enough that it will possibly yield more Dredd fruit in about 10-15 years (if you eat Dredd fruit you explode)

Re: Looper (Dir: Rian Johnson)

I'm still marveling at how beautifully shot and edited the transition between JGL to Bruce Willis was in the middle of the movie. This was impressive to me too. It was really refreshing to see a mainstream AAA-ish type project challenge traditional narrative structure and succeed. There was alot of...

Re: Dredd jokes Movies.com: Dredd has these perfectly delivered moments of levity that both relieve tension and let us inside Dredd's head. How strictly scripted were those moments? Re: Paul Thomas Anderson's next film is "The Master"

You should totes ghostwrite the subversive, socioeconomic messages and conflicted characters that change and learn valuable life lessons in Mac's Texts From Bennett novel. yeah, because that is the same as a p.t. anderson movie tbh I could probably pull that off if I had enough time to think about it

Re: Paul Thomas Anderson's next film is "The Master"

P.T. Anderson’s ‘The Master’ will likely be one of 2012’s most divisive films. Looking around at the audience while in the theater helps to translate the mood of the experience: a mix of rapt, visceral power with intermittent agitation and bewilderment. Many people shifted uncomfortably in their se...

I feel you on the cheapness front, definitely a low-rent affair that succeeded due to the subject matter. Something else that bothered me was that the family was so cow-eyed and oblivious (especially the sister) that they're responses almost seemed canned at points, it was almost like their cracker-...

I saw this, just read a little epilogue online trying to jog my memory which described bourdin as 'vampirish'. Seemed very apt. Dude has an intoxicating presence. Movie is a head trip, really bizarre to behold. I'm still incredulous to how the whole thing went down.

phoenix and hoffman murder their roles as expected. phoenix moreso. experimental narrative will drive many to boredom (as evidenced by some people walking out of my theater), but I couldn't get enough. there certainly is an arc and it's easy to follow, it's just not traditional at all and more like ...

Read the article a while ago, it floored me then but I never considered it as a movie prospect. Looks excellently creepy. The part in the footage where he is making her stand on a chair is so absurd I can't even wrap my head around it, never mind the other horrible shit. People are fuckin scary.

I'd be way more mad about this if that wasn't Joel Kinnaman inside that suit. Reserving judgement til we see some video of robo in action, a lot of times shit looks way different on camera than it does on-set. Movie has a pretty awesome cast and a competent director (Elite Squad), so there's a chan...

yeah, I don't view it as anything more than a fun little riff on one of my favorite genres. always just found the hate baffling from people I otherwise agree with about most movies. I'd be interested in whether not he has ever officially mentioned whether it's a straight homage or a semi-satire, I think both views have pretty solid evidence to support them.
