Had this playing in my head this morning for some reason. Nice Diamond D produced standout track off of the fairly average Shadz of Lingo album.

Rocks the same break as Gang Starr 2 Deep

Re: One of my favorite troy era tracks....

When I first heard this album I didn't listen to this song much.. Please don't hate me but I actually think it's the weakest track on that album. Maybe it's the singing (or warbling) that ruins it for me but compared to the rest of the album, it doesn't quite stand out for me. I do think that Mic G...

@ HeRBaN LyRiX - Really cool to see someone giving this album a bit of love. This was a firm favourite of mine back then, I still have the cassette somewhere. I still think it's an unfairly overlooked album. Slightly dated sounding now but aged a lot better than others from the same era. His follow ...

Re: Your Top 10 Non-Canonical Albums

I'm a bit late on this one with most of the albums that I would have put in my top ten having already been mentioned (esp. KMD - Black Bastards, Pos K, Casual - Fear Itself, Smif N Wessun). The albums below are off the top of my head so I'm sure I've missed out some gems but I don't have access to m...

Man, so many good albums in there and so many great memories (I was 16 when these came out). It's quite tough, but I'll go with these as a Top 5: 1. Souls of Mischief - 93 'til Infinity 2. Re: DSD:Above the Law/Brand Nubian/Young Black Teenagers

Black Mafia Life is criminally under-appreciated in my opinion. I'll stick my neck out and say that it's one of the best 1990s West Coast albums ever. I would love to give BML my vote but In God... was just such a killer album. I loved how militant it was compared to One For All. Video version or Di...

Ice T. Cold Chillin was easily the best record label of it's time but there's nothing on Biz's album that can fuck with tracks like Hit The Deck, Lethal Weapon or This One's For Me.

Apart from the two bullshit, generic "party joints" - 'Get Your Groove On' & 'Move Ya Body' the Mad Skillz album was and still is a solid listen. Admittedly, his full potential was not realized on the album. He was capable of better, as were the producers on the album, but my vote still goes to Skil...
