Anybody have any additional thoughts on the final season and the finale now that it's been 6 or 7 months since it aired? Has everything that there is to say already been said? I (reluctantly) re-watched Season 1 with a new girlfriend over the past week or so, which always helps me see things with ne...

Relatively (extremely) weak year for games. Mass Effect 2 should win, but won't. God of War 3 should come in dead last, but will probably be top 3. Black Ops will probably win, and until we define some criteria for "game of the year", COD and Madden games will keep winning. Also, Red Dead was horrib...

You can't compare a quick off-the-top summary from an IMDB poster to actually seeing the movie either. Well that's why it's funny though, I haven't seen it and don't intend to, so the extremely reductive take by random IMDB poster that focuses only on the graphic stuff is absolutely hilarious when ...

Is it naive and/or overly optimistic to think that Nolan is at least testing Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Joker? People were calling for him to play the Joker way before Ledger's casting was ever announced, and if anyone else looks similar enough to Ledger while also being off-the-radar enough to pull of...

I've already explained at length why I enjoyed it. I'm sorry you didn't. The hate just seems totally out of touch with the overall reception of the film and honestly it seems like you just had a bad day or got into a car accident while driving home from the theater or something  Calling it just...

I don't know what you guys are all worked up about shit was mediocre to good at best. It was a movie about a dream within a dream within a dream...wow he fucked his dumbass wife over so what. There was zero emotional weight to the first half of the movie, and the second half barely carried it throu...

Definitely problematic. It sort of sucks taking cues solely from the credits but that is difficult to explain. Thanks for pointing this stuff out. Grandma not being seen is not a factor. Show her at the end and 80% of the audience thinks it's his wife come back to life or future Juno or some shit. S...

If you think the end was real, how do you explain his kids being the same age as when he left? Did he say how long he had been in exile? I genuinely don't remember. I mean, he could have only been gone 6 months, and had time to perform hundred and hundreds of extractions due to the accelerated time...

Whether he is shooting a Batman movie or an original idea he is connecting to humans with his art in ways that even the greatest artists can't/couldn't comprehend, he is connecting with us on our own terms, within our own lives, and most importantly within our own mind. This is hyperbolic and kind ...

i don't like that one bit I like it quite a bit, it's well written and has some moments of genuine insight. It's also a classic example of the type of film analysis that starts with a conclusion and then cherry picks evidence from the film to support that conclusion while ignoring everything that d...

Just saw it. Phenomenal. Will be seeing again within the next 24 hours. The entire fucking cast nails every minute of their performances. Everyone. Props to Cillian Murphy for turning a somewhat forgettable role into something big. More props to DiCaprio for grounding this whole premise in reality, ...

I mean, considering the panning slo-mo "soldiers murdering Nazis omfg the paradox" scene was filmed like that birth control commercial where a bunch of synchronized swimmers line up at the edge of a pool and fall in one-by-one domino style, yeah, I would agree that all of those scenes were insulting...

(3) When the guards request Teddy's gun, here again we have a SYMBOLIC act that needs to be situated within its proper HISTORICAL context (recall what the Germans did to the Jews prior to the Holocaust). Also, note that Chuck's gun is handed over in a hulster; Teddy's is not (this matters for the e...

I don't agree at all that they were unimportant. It's easy to say now that the entire series is over with, but a good 90% of those mysteries seemed hugely important at the time. This is a show that intentionally led viewers to believe that every hint, clue, red herring, and clump of pixels in the sm...

eh hurley wasnt born on the island though If this is in response to Popeye's post (which was terrific, by the way), you either mis-read or completely missed the point of that entire paragraph. He was explaining one possible "answer" that would have been satisfying to him. Sadly, for the "Miles and ...
