Rule 3 means I can still take a stab at this? Man, Ardamus, sometimes, the extent of your understanding and ability to compromise works in the best interest of procrastinators such as myself. I'm still on vacation for the next 36 hours, so I'll send something before the deadline. I also noticed I'm ...

Re: Ableton Push
My only reservation with getting the Maschine is that I'd feel like I'm jumping on the bandwagon late in the game, and I've never gotten anything close to its date of origin. The Push might change that, but then I've also got to give myself a crash course in Live. Can anybody point me to videos or e...

Re: Ableton Push
All of these new controllers make me want to rework my setup and sell my MPC and SP. I feel like I've severely fallen behind the times.
I know there's a couple Maschine users here, but what other MIDI toys do people use regularly, i.e. the APC, the Renaissance, etc.?

Is it too late to participate in the upcoming rounds? I know that goes against the stated rules, but I figure missing a round counts as a zero-vote showing, so there's no harm done.

Mixed and arranged this the other day. Been sitting on it for quite awhile. Beat's from my friend V-Dizzle with whom I've worked regularly for the past few years. Dan Devine is a college friend. Sadat X raps or something lol who knowzzz.

#1 with a bullet. #6 is my second favorite, but #1 is the smoothest, most fluid, most gradually compelling entry. If entry #2 was executed a little better, it would've been tougher. There also needs to be a time limit on these. I know restricting people's creativity is taboo or whatever, but listeni...

I think the circumstances are different since French was estranged from his father, who was a rich Moroccan at some point, but I don't know enough about his history. I just know in Harry Fraud's case, there's a direct correlation between provided opportunity and viable success.

I scoffed at B. Ware pushing Future on these forums, but I now secretly listen to Pluto and the FBG tape more than anything else I have at my disposal right now. This song is very tough. Wish someone replaced Ace Hood.Escobar305 wrote:

probably my least favorite of his albums :megaman: I feel the opposite. I guess it sort of speaks to what people get from this guy. I wanted a more focused, deliberate R&B sound from him, and I can see how some of the sacrifices he made that deviate from the other records put people at odds with th...

This is a classic glitch-hop (yeesh on that genre name) mix from 2006. Although I'm reluctant to consider anything that came out of Burning Man to be ahead-of-its-time, IMO this still sounds more innovative than anything TRAP. http://soundcloud.com/theglitchmob/edit-hefty-records-flossed-out I prob...

The Gucci mention was the contrast to the hipster preference. And I'm not talking about how this affects how I listen to him, I'm talking about the stock he has among various bands of listeners, the hipster crowd among them. This is stupid. Both the new mixtape and EP proves he's got great things ah...

I guess I'm thinking more along the lines that eX's eccentricities (raps over every type of production, likes strippers and comic books, wears glasses and Fargo hats on stage, does collabs with Das Racist and Gucci Mane) are enough to have the hipster community trying to prove their allegiance to hi...

In what way at all is he going 'the hipster route'? The video (and remix) that more or less broke him featured Despot, El-P, Das Racist, and Danny Brown, among other moves that aim directly or indirectly at hipster tendencies. If anything, eX has done a better job than most at balancing the handful...

#2 on the Billboard Top 100 for a record with a very specific audience, halfway to gold... not bad.
Competing with Taylor Swift's 1.2-million first week numbers is basically impossible, even if you're Wayne circa '08.
So, good for Kendrick.
Back to the failures of Shady Aftermath.

If he plays a full season at the level we saw towards the tail end of last year, I see Pekovic creeping into top 5 center discussions. And I'm a Nets fan, so I still believe in a rejuvenated Lopez.
