Here's what I don't understand. Alot of the olderheads make the claim that the newer crop of artists do no respect or acknowledge the schools that came before them. Now, let's think about some of the biggest artists of the past five years. Puff Daddy Busta Rhymes Snoop Dogg Missy Elliot Timbaland Na...

OK, now that we've all participated in this out of control filesharing orgy, does anyone feel like expressing their opinions on the music they've heard? Out of the songs that were entirely new to me, I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with Sha Now the Remedy Man's solo joint. For those that ...

Wow, this is a bargain bin classic. I just saw it today as a matter of fact, for $2.99. I copped it back in 96 because the Cella Dwellas shouted them out. They are from Brooklyn, and their style is very typical of the time period, though they seem to favor keyboard sounds over samples on some songs....

One minute you're coming home from high school, watching Ralph McDaniel's video music box..Next thing you know you're favorite rappers can't even get a major to answer their calls. Damn, that hit especially close to home... I think as the knowledgeable older generation we might be wise to assume Di...

Um, it's a good idea.

Questionmark Asylum are worse than even sophomore LP Grand Daddy IU so... Why so much hate on Questionmark Asylum? I thought they're debut album was pretty nice. Songs like "Curse Of the Q" were just bangin They were soft, every song sounded exactly the same, and their jack of the Pharcyde style wa...

n.w.a. alone has more classic albums than that entire new jersey list. Wrong. Both Artifacts albums, the first three PRT albums, Queen latifah's debut, Naughty's debut, The Original Flavor Unit compilation, Lakim Shabazz's debut, and a host of other albums out of Jersey can be rightfully considered...

As much as I respect LA's contribution to the rap game, in particular the albums made by NWA and related peoples, I have to step in and rep for New Jeruz. A lot of you are grossly underestimating what NJ has brought to the table. NJ was home to literally dozens of rap labels (including the biggest o...
