Re: Vince Staples - Summertime 06

Vince is my favorite upcoming rapper, still only listened to senorita and now norf norf and I'll just wait until next week for the rest but I really like both of those songs. The only thing I'd say is that he needs more bars per verse and less spoken repeat choruses. But he's a sick ass rapper and I...

All time classic, and a formative album from my youth. Aged well. He's never done anything that matches this album.

Skip to two minutes in, I know these white people are the worst, but its a really good show and they should do a live album/dvd.

Re: Deltron 3030 - City Rising From The Ashes

I like the production, but del doesn't rap on beat on a single song. He just talks fast with no connection to the music. I saw them live with the orchestra a few months ago and it was a great show. Hopefully they release a live album because that's how this was meant to be heard. The skits feel real...

I'm surprised people are so interested in this. From the trailer it looks far too wholesome to be palatable even if it has some funny bits included Trailers really aren't a good indication for what a movie can be like, because they can be made by some talentless fucktard with no connection to the m...

Not a real Mr. Show fan... also never understood UCB love. I'm a big fan of UCB, but I will concede that a fair percentage of their skits completely fall flat. I think Mr. Show is the same way. They try really weird stuff and when it doesn't work, it really doesn't work. But when they get it right,...

I think Mr. Show has much better replay value. A lot of the humor is more clever and absurd, and it lends itself better to repeat viewings. People can't front on Chapelle Show, season two had so many huge laughs, it all just got too played out. Come on, you can't even front about how hard you laughe...

usually i dislike miike stuff, but for some reason this seems like it could work You have to watch Happiness of the Katakuris. Tina Fey is hot but she was the head writer of snl when snl became like an unfunny version of madtv, and madtv is an insult to comedy.

Just because she writes doesn't mean she writes well.

Hot yes, talented no.

Great thing about nin is that every album has a very different sound, while maintaining similar, but evolving themes. Pretty Hate Machine is kind of like heavy synthpop and the album is about being heartbroken. Broken is heavy industrial/metal, and is about anger manifesting itself in self abuse and...

Everyone needs to see Kundun if you haven't already. It's probably Scorsese's most visually stunning film; it's almost like Scorsese chanelling Malick, come to think of it. That's because of Roger Deakins' stunning cinematography (guy who does Coen Bros. movies). Roger Deakins photography plus Phil...
