Re: Your Top 10 Non-Canonical Albums
I think Casual was a great rapper with fantastic production behind him on Fear Itself. Kurious was mildly entertaining with fantastic production on Constipated Monkey. altho i would rate kurious slightly higher than "mildly entertaining" i basically agree with this and there is no better example of...

3. black moon high points are better than anything on the list but for a classic album there is some borderline weak shit on that record 2. diamond put too many songs on his record otherwise it might be a top 5 all time album for me also the interludes were horrible 1. pharcyde had a lot of songs as...

Re: Village Voice The 10 Best Forgotten New York Hip-Hop Rec
That Blahzhay Blahzhay album had like 2 good songs. yeah danger and the title track...but it didn't really have any bad songs either...the rhymes got super stale after a few tracks but pf cuttin is tremendous on the one and twos....that alone makes it a nice listen...its a thousand times better tha...

i actually think liquid swords is overrated as well....dont get me wrong GREAT album....but i think its nuts to put it ahead of cuban linx or ironman as it seems the majority does...the first half of it is all world but it falls off after that....my biggest criticism of it...especially compared to c...

Re: When did the golden era end?
Hell on Earth has Prodigy rapping at his peak and is much more cohesive from a production standpoint. The spooky, ethereal tone leaves a more lasting impression than the scattershot vibes of their sophomore album. It's the most "Mobb Deep-sounding" album in their catalog, and what a new listener sh...

1996 - i used to look at atliens (august 96) asd the day the music "died"
as for a long time that was imo the last no brainer true classic in hop-hop
and maybe it still is

Re: Cypress Hill Discussion Thread
their debut as it compares to the rest of their catalog is kinda similar to how 36 chambers is to wu's subsequent releases...its got that gritty dusty four track demo sound and for me that puts it on a pedestal by itself It's a time thing. Usually, the albums you listen to first are more nostalgic....
