The lack of discussion of this mixtape on this board is insane. Other than the Freddie Gibbs/Madlib album this has gotten the most play from me this year in terms of new releases.

This album is way better than I expected. Might be his best solo, but then again I hate most of his solo work, except about half of Internal Affairs.

nice release. And, no I haven't really delved into more than a couple songs of the new shit.

And none of those ranks as high as the third (even arguably 4th) best Mobb Deep album.

I don't think it's a bad idea honestly, especially if you're Cilvaringz and your alternative sources of dispersing such a collaboration are probably releasing it for free via Datpiff.com, going the bandcamp route, or maybe getting a marginal independent label to put it out so that it can sell a coup...

It was the same way last year. Honestly, it's been a while since they really tried to "break" new artists this way. It's basically just a way of promoting newer major label nominees, I'm sure money is exchanged in terms of advertising packages at a minimum. Pretty laughable.

In the context of the album, this would be barely passable filler. In the context of a random soundcloud loosie where I can't stop myself from reading the idiotic comments of mindless stans saying things like "GOD HAS SPOKEN," and "PRAISE DUH TA ALLAH" and "THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS I'VE EVER...

He's cool. I definitely think he'll blow up at some point. Just a matter of time, continuing to make music, and connecting with the right people either publicly or behind the scenes.

album is the shit. Madlib + top level talent is an unbeatable combination. Odds are Gibbs never surpasses this album, but at least he brought it to us all. Happy day.
