ATCQ-Practice Session (Demo Mix) -- What's the deal?

ATCQ-Practice Session (Demo Mix) I was listening to this Radio Show -- http://www.beatsinspace.net/playlists/555 -- and the DJs closed their mix with a track I'd never heard of. It's labeled "Tribe Called Quest - Practice Session (Demo Mix)" and they credit it to Q-Tip, J. Dilla, and Ali Shaheed Mu...

Anyone dig Wooden Shjips? Kind of of slurry psychedelic San Fran band that would seem to fit in here. Anyway, I just discovered them and found a few live sets on this page:

Wondering what are the best albums to checkout, preferably as LPs.

Is video supposed to be a tribute to Mortal Kombat?

Thanks for the link to the Fuzzy Jones flip, though. I'm actually surprised producers don't lift more dancehall for rap hooks. Following A Milli, figured everyone would be jocking it.

Begrudging props to Kanye, I suppose.

House Shoes' debut LP drops the following week. Gotta keep the name fresh, yo. But honestly, I didn't even know other people knew who he was.

As for rapping over Dilla beats, it's better than beyond-the-grave BIG/Pac cameos.

Pretty dated references for a San Fransisco music writer.

I think this is a golden era for instrumental hip-hop, especially with everything coming out of Brainfeeder in Los Angeles. Although, perhaps in his defense, I've never been to a Cali beats show that wasn't a haze of weed smoke.

Dedication 2 may have jacked a few beats, but it was a cohesive album that was given a commercial release and wound up on many critics' Best Of lists. Other albums may have been more artistic, but this was a game-changer and had more impact than 90 percent of the discs in this thread. And the final ...

I been around this site for a minute now, and it just struck me how little I read Madlib's name. I saw Madvillian made the Album of the Decade tournament, which was warranted, but I think I'm too dumb to figure out how well it did. Still, I thought Jaylib Champion Sound was better, and I still liste...
