Re: Spectrum (pre-Public Enemy) NBC/Funky Revolution acetate

If you're mostly into older stuff, I'll admit I haven't provided as much stuff lately as I used to. This is a result of my doing less posts in general, getting new stuff submitted more regulatlary, and running out of noteworthy older stuff to post. That said, Rakim week is next week so that might ha...

Spectrum (pre-Public Enemy) NBC/Funky Revolution acetates

So most of us probably know about Spectrum City's Lies/Check Out the Radio single from 1984. However, recently, a few acetate recordings by Spectrum (the original name of the crew, pre-Spectrum City) appeared on Soundcloud. Here they are: https://soundcloud.com/antonymeijer/spectrum-spectrum-city-nb...

Congrats on the album Block, everybody kills it. New single is ill: 6JUH5FFZLjo Hearing stuff like this reminds me that Brewin is still one of the goats, and needs to make more records. I've come to terms with the idea of him never putting out another full project and even regret the time I ran up ...

Re: Mindbender Supreme - Journey Into Sound: THE NEW ALBUM

Not to be rude but this reminded me of the time when Tyson denied the rape charge saying he wished he had done it. I believe him. ^ outright fabrication. this is a ban-worthy offence and I hope the mods enforce the rule of law. I don't remember the Denny's story but Mindbender definitely told us abo...

Re: Worst Poster of 2018

I honestly don't even think of Mindbender as a bad poster. Dude does bugged out space rap and porn. Does he go on long, obsessive rants about Drake and Nas? Of course, but that's why a site like this exists. Is he prone to call himself God when you don't agree with him? You bet. But the fact that su...

Re: 2018 Album of The Year

I won't argue that it's a very consistent album but I also don't see a huge difference in quality between this and some of his other good solo releases. I think the brevity and focus had more to do with the positive reaction than anything, Pusha isn't doing anything here that he hasn't done elsewhe...

Lord Scotch 79 aka KEO aka Lord Smog aka Blake Lethem

Known as the original white rapper, a legendary graph writer, the guy who designed the DOOM mask, and the brother of author Jonathan Lethem. I just found and listened to this interview yesterday. Amazing stuff, enjoy:
