Re: Official European Football 2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Ghost town in here, what the fuck is going on? Spurs have been playing well and Kane looks to have regained his finishing touch just in time for Arsenal. Really looking forward to the game this week. It's not like Arsenal are a great team, but there don't appear to be any great teams in the league t...

Re: Sicario (E.Blunt, Del Toro, Brolin, Dir. Villeneuve)

I also felt like the time we spent with the police officer was really unnecessary as they played the same scene out several times in the movie. I realize they were trying to show that not everyone involved with the cartels are wholly bad people, but they didn't flesh the officer out enough for me t...

Re: Sicario (E.Blunt, Del Toro, Brolin, Dir. Villeneuve)

Mostly agree with what everyone has said here, but probably didn't like it as much as the rest of you. The entire cast was solid, and I thought Blunt and Del Toro were brilliant. The cinematography was stunning, and the action was all really well done. The border crossing shootout was so damn good. ...

Re: Bone Tomahawk (Kurt Russel's mustache hunts indians)

This is a decent debut, but I was expecting the movie to unravel in a completely different way having seen the trailer. It's far too long at two hours, but I understand why that decision was made as it's two different films wrapped into one. The first half is that of the traditional western where we...

Re: The Official Star Wars Episode VII Thread

I like that the trailers have only revealed the same scenes instead of really going in depth and spoiling everything. Short of knowing how the two main characters meet I don't really know shit about this movie.

Re: Official European Football 2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Great signing, obviously. Not a great time for Spurs to play 'Pool, the Liverpool players will be anxious to prove themselves to the new manager. Liverpool fans, was Rodgers really that bad of a manager or was it unrealistic expectations? It was inevitable they'd do worse once they lost Suarez. I al...

Has a very high chance of being great. The setting is perfect for their style of writing, sure to be some fantastic dialogue. Plus movies about Hollywood always seem to be pretty entertaining.

Re: "Black Mass" (Depp = Whitey Bulger)

I have to echo most people's criticism here. There's no heart to this movie because you never really get to know anyone well enough to give a shit. Depp is great as Bulger and I thought Edgerton was a very compelling character, but they really do only seem to skim the surface of both men's lives. Bu...

Yes, Dier has impressed this year. I wonder if they do know what they're doing over there. the emergence of Son and return of Eriksen have all helped the team. I really hope they keep Bentaleb on the bench, he's fucking useless.

Re: Official European Football 2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Can't believe none of my fellow Spurs fans have even commented on the 4-1 victory against City. Sure, a couple of the goals were suspect and City are a team that's struggling, but that's the best win of the young season right there. Really encouraged by the last couple of games, but not getting craz...

Re: Official European Football 2014-15 Regular Season Thread

What up Son! Solid game from Spurs against a hot Crystal Palace team. Deserved the win, but could have easily been 1-1. Son and Alli played their hearts out, if they can play like that most of the time they should take pressure off of Kane. More likely, there will be games like this and games where ...

Re: Official European Football 2014-15 Regular Season Thread

It was fun seeing Spurs barely creep by Sunderland. Jesus Christ. I know they've got some injuries and Sunderland played like they wanted to stay in the league, but this Spurs team is really tepid. Hopefully getting Erickson back and having Son an Alli get comfortable will change things, but even qu...

Solid finale. They left enough up in the air that there's a number of interesting places to go next season. I really enjoyed both the writing (occasionally cringeworthy, but great for the most part) and camera work (the use of space). Anyone know what changes they made to the suicide scene because o...

Pretty dumb finale. Valcoro and Ani have sex a few times and all of a sudden they're the world's greatest couple. I love how the women on this show have Jedi powers and can feel when their men die. Once was dumb enough, two is a hangable offense. Vince Vaughn's hallucinations were so hacky, we've se...

I thought this was pretty boring and uninspired. Sounds like everything else that's out right now, definitely doesn't have that California vibe like the previous two albums which is hilarious given that it's called Compton.

Probably won't be a better time for Spurs to face United than game 1. Excited for this weekend. Spurs needed more defenders so I'm not mad. They've got a reasonable midfield, you have to hope Erickson and Chadli take another step forward this season. Not hoping for much from Lamela, but I guess the ...

Yeah, that's a great slit your wrists double feature.

"Come and See" is a super bleak film, but its power is undeniable. It's something every film buff should see, but it's not something you want to watch a ton of times.
