Re: Can we get one great gigantic 90s remix thread going on?

Nice collection, but I gotta say I was disappointed that the dead prez remix was only my radio rip from a few yrs ago and not the limited edition white label that was available for about a week on hiphopsite.com back in 2000-01. Would love to hear a proper rip someday

^Tough call, as you know he made very few beats that could remotely be called boring. I bump the Lost Breakbeats cd (which is the Yellow Album plus a few more) like it was a regular album. Re: Nas "Illmatic XX"

Speaking of vaporized blends, was reminded of your Aint Hard to Tell/Nas Will Prevail recreation. Hearing the hissy demo (with the J-Love drop) then segueing into your track weirded me out just now. In the best possible way.

Re: What movie did you watch today?

^Did you guys see Hamilton ? That's that shit. Putty Hill was a nice try, esp. in light of the fact that it was a last-minute rebound project conceived in days and made from nothing. That's impressive. Problem for me is that it does feel like a film that's barely there, with things like the off-scre...

Re: Mapping out the Stretch N Bobbito Show History(w/tape ri

^Whuuuuut!? I think I've seen the public access show, if not that one then a very similar around the same time, also featuring OC and another cat freestyling. I remember S&B advertising it the week before it aired. Caught it 2 or 3 in the am on one of those NY PBS channels. But could swear that they...

Please do, serch. In fact, any Lost Breakbeat series you have (apart from the ones available at 1994hiphop) is much in demand (by me, at least).

ID? http://www53.zippyshare.com/v/28119429/file.html The mc is Apani B, the track's probably an unreleased demo http://www.sendspace.com/file/nbyi15 ID for the 2 please. The first one is Peanut B...

Only skimmed thru the Thomson book and I haven't read many but for a comprehensive history of film "A History of Narrative Film" by David A. Cook has to be one of the best. My copy is in tatters from referring to it so often http://www.amazon.com/History-Narrative-Film-David-Cook/dp/0393968197 Also,...

Interesting. The longshot guess for the red sun, Brighter Summer Day is just that- a longshot, but would be a major, major release if it panned out (which it won't)

Re: Modern Covers of Classic Sample Sources, R&B/Soul, Jazz,

You know what a great cover would be if it existed and we could find it? A version of Take Me To The Mardi Gras that has the Paul Simon lyrics over a Bob James-esque instrumental. With a brief scratching in of Peter Piper as icing on the cake. If it doesn't exist someone should do it.

The faces on their album sleeve are not the band; those are apparently the artists they cover. The band afaik is outta Germany.
