My favorite from Tip, doesn't sound like typical Southern though but like an NYC banger instead. Thanks to Jake One for blessing him with this instrumental.

Re: The Best Southern Hip-Hop Songs of All-Time

2QWQVm9J5DM I love Southern Hip Hop songs that are so classic that they transcend their region, to the point other regions of Hip Hop cite them in their lyrics: "Knowing, all the shit now one knows. Nice job by Skillz, I've been a fan since The Nod Factor.

My dream: to round up all the so-called rappers from NYC who the media hold up on a pedestal for everything but their skills. Then blast them all with a pile of shit like Charlie Sheen & Emilio Estevez in the movie Men At Work.

Forgot about this gem from 2011: DXA's "DXArmy Vs The Rhythmonster" EP! Sounds like it was recorded back in '91 from the wit and exuberance of each lyricist combined with their lo-fi SP1200 sample-based sound.

Oh yeah, RZA in his prime was nice on the mic. That Bobby Digital alter ego he used is always interesting to revisit. He sounded like he had a lot of chaotic life experience backed up in him over the years, and his medium for expressing it all was the microphone. "You know us to be robust, the great...
