i picked this year because for me hip-hop was at an all-time low and although there were some gems released, the majority of the music was doo-doo brown. having said that, let's vote what you felt was the best release of 1997. oh boy, i know there is gonna be some fightin' goin' on in herrrrrrrrrre!

My favorite albums of 1997, in order:
Wu-Tang Forever
Life After Death
Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars
One Day It'll All Make Sense
The Pick, the Sickle, and the Shovel
Funcrusher Plus
In My Lifetime, Vol. 1
Equinox
The War Report
Stone Crazy (1997, right?)
The Carnival
I haven't heard a couple from your list, and any others from 1997, I can't recall off the top of my head. I'm sure there were a few wack albums from that year, but I can't really think of any...
EDIT: Forgot about that Danja Mowf...that definitely belongs in my list somewhere.

1997 had a lot more good albums than you realize:
Common's "One Day it Will All Make Sense."
Camp Lo's "Uptown Saturday Night."
Onyx's "Shut 'Em Down."
Killarmy's "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars."
Were all released that year as well as many good 12's.

Wu Tang for sure. If they had just one disc that album would be a classic.

For the record, when I make polls they certainly don't reflect my favorites. It's impossible to please everybody, so I just pick and choice a list that will contain atleast one album that'll appeal to you.

Had to go with Wu-Tang. Hearing Reunited for the first time was too dope. That song still strikes as hard as the day I first heard it.

I put Ghetto D on there for Mike (NJJ), besides a lot of kids liked that shit before he got played out.

I know alot of people are feeling that Siah and Yeshuah Ep
also Atmosphere Overcast get's a lot of credit that year (though I dislike the album)
That Bone Thugs Cd was sooooo dope, I loved it...
my vote went in for BIG Life after Death, that cd was dope beginning to end... and the wu was VERY close behind...

Gotta admit, I'm among the vast minority who still play The Carnival album religiously. That album is constantly fresh to me... no element about it is particularly stellar, but I'll be damned if I skip a single track during a full listen.

easily funcrusher
for its influence alone
but its also my personal favorite of the year
wu-forever had too much filler.. if it was a single disc it would be a fucking classic no doubt.
