E-drums? anybody wanna drop some knowledge on em?

Post by M:akai »

i'm planning on copping a couple drum triggers to lace into my mpc. I done a bit of research and it looks like i don't need a central "brain" module to accomplish what i want to do (which saves me a g or two) either way, i'm struggling to grasp exactly what i need to get/do to ...

1) hook up a snare, hi hat, and kick trigger directly to my mpc's midi input.

2) play samples from the mpc using said triggers.

yodel at me if you can help. much appreciated

if you already have a drum kit, you should just get a quality boom mic and just sample the wav file. It's not as hip hop as playing the drums live ala just blaze, but it's cheaper definitely.

sheeet, nah, if i could have a big nasty set in my house i'd be set. I'm coppin midi joints so i can wear headphones and still refine my drum game. i really just need to have a setup where i can have 3 pads that i use to trigger samples in the mpc.

the acoustic kit's coming in due time tho...
