"Dah Shinin'" is overrated. And boring. And has shitty drums. And is that whole funkless style of 90s boom-bap i've grown to loathe. There's maybe 4 songs i'd want to listen to off it nowadays but none of them are anywhere near as dope as "Just To Get A Rep", "Who's Gonna Take The Weight", "Form Of Intellect", "Execution Of A Chump", "Check The Technique" and "Beyond Comprehension".

either of these two albums could have won the last tournament and it wouldnt have been a bad thing...theres no way in a tournament with 2 live crew and cannibal ox that they should be facing each other at this point
both are probably in my top 20 albums ever....but gangstarr is top 5 for me...the title track is a musical masterpiece...not sure any song has ever been as well put together as that one

Dah Shinin. Better sampling, better drums and better rapping.
Put it up against Hard to Earn and then we'll talk.

there aren't many albums that hold up to dah shinin'. as good as some gangstarr tracks are, guru is usually a boring emcee.
