cold vein. stress is great, but not the tour de force that the cold vein is. you know the cold vein is great, cuz it achieves its greatness despite the fact the emcees are light years behind prince po and monch. but sonically? that shit attacks you in a way few other albums do. and its almost perfectly sequenced.
Yes, but which album would homosexual french aficianados of brazilian Sade covers prefer?RacquetballGangsta wrote:cold vein. stress is great, but not the tour de force that the cold vein is. you know the cold vein is great, cuz it achieves its greatness despite the fact the emcees are light years behind prince po and monch. but sonically? that shit attacks you in a way few other albums do. and its almost perfectly sequenced.

RG, you put it much better than I did. I knew I'd catch shit for stating my opinion, but thats what it is, my opinion. Cold Vein is the album that I listen to more and is a personal favorite of mine, so of course I'm going to stick my head out for it. I meant no disrespect to OK, I own and love all their records. Pharoahe Monch is one of the nastiest emcees ever to touch a mic. Prince Po is no slouch either, his new album with TOMC3 is actually pretty solid.RacquetballGangsta wrote:cold vein. stress is great, but not the tour de force that the cold vein is. you know the cold vein is great, cuz it achieves its greatness despite the fact the emcees are light years behind prince po and monch. but sonically? that shit attacks you in a way few other albums do. and its almost perfectly sequenced.
And Vast Aire was a dope rapper before his solo career (Cold Vein and all the Atoms Family releases)

i cant stand when people say an infinitely superior album is better than the shitty album that followed it because it set the stage for it
for example in this case it intimates that the two records are close to as good as each other but OK is better only because it came first...which couldnt be farther from the truth
