As much as I love Stress and OK, I have to go with Cannibal Ox here. The Cold Vein is one of the best hiphop albums of this decade.

cold vein. stress is great, but not the tour de force that the cold vein is. you know the cold vein is great, cuz it achieves its greatness despite the fact the emcees are light years behind prince po and monch. but sonically? that shit attacks you in a way few other albums do. and its almost perfectly sequenced.

Stress because, to me, it set a foundation for albums like Cold Vein to come out.

RG, you put it much better than I did. I knew I'd catch shit for stating my opinion, but thats what it is, my opinion. Cold Vein is the album that I listen to more and is a personal favorite of mine, so of course I'm going to stick my head out for it. I meant no disrespect to OK, I own and love all their records. Pharoahe Monch is one of the nastiest emcees ever to touch a mic. Prince Po is no slouch either, his new album with TOMC3 is actually pretty solid.

And Vast Aire was a dope rapper before his solo career (Cold Vein and all the Atoms Family releases)

Actually, it explicitly sets the foundation for nobody else to even attempt replicating it because they'd pale in comparison. But people apparently didn't follow instructions.

Yeah, but did he spit an offbeat undeipherable verse with too many syllables on the album?

cold vein is probably one of the only latter day albums that can contend with the mid-90's

this is a very good match, I personally think Stress is a little overrated, but still has a few certified classic bangers.

i cant stand when people say an infinitely superior album is better than the shitty album that followed it because it set the stage for it

for example in this case it intimates that the two records are close to as good as each other but OK is better only because it came first...which couldnt be farther from the truth
