I peeped the thread about album skits and I responded I thought a few of the skits on the Carnival were dope. I'm tossing The Carnival in my mp3 player right.. I've always thought that was just a flat out dope record.

So what's the word on Wyclef. Seems he's one of those characters that either people are feeling or generally have x amount of hate for..

yeah i thought the carnival was a dope record
i really liked the direction he was taking it

some parts of that record i could have done without
but overall it was a solid effort

as a fugee
he was tolerable
with some dope verses

since the carnival
the only thing i can listen to is

after the carnival, he started going downhill pretty quickly. his most recent work is unlistenable. the carnival was a really really dope record though and i actually did like the skits on it, although there were a few too many.

his music never really did it for me.

but after his stern show interview i have a new respect for the guy.

he's pretty involved in community service as well so props there.

i think he's a good musician and a below average rapper.

his attempts at singing usually fall short as well.

that being said i loved carnivale and listened to ecleftic a lot. haven't been keeping tabs on him too much since then. he's currently on tour with sean paul and akon. if a free ticket floats my way i would love to check out his set.

The Carnival is still one of my favorite albums. Wyclef used to be the shit to me.

The Carnival and The Fugess stuff he had done was the shit. After that, his whole albums didn't do anything for me. Now, he has a few singles in between I think are real dope. But some of the songs he did with like U2 and Missy I thought were :fail:

in comparison to what he has done before. I still haven't checked out Carnival II which looks like its promising. I'll at least give it a listen.

never really got into the Fugees
after I saw them live I really never had a reason to get into them
his biggest solo stuff all seemed to be remakes of other songs

Im sure hes a good musican/songwriter but I could care less
