I never though I would defend J-Kwon, but I think you guys are missing something: yeah he's pretty bad, yeah he's MTV and "pop" (that's probably why he's getting a lot of votes), but is he the worst on this list (?)...
If Pras was never involved with the Fugees and Mr. Eon wasn't underground: there's no way y'all would honestly think that Pras has anything on J-Kwon in terms of skills. J-Kwon would EAT Silkk in a battle. J-Kwon should not be the run away winner of this poll.
Another thing, I enjoy lots of High and Mighty's stuff: "Home Field Advantage" was a pretty solid album. I also like the Beastie Boys and they are probably just as bad if not worse than anyone listed in this poll. Skill is not the lyrical skill is not the end-all be-all of making good music.
EDIT: Also, Cassidy is not a bad emcee! I don't like the music he choses to make, but who here actually thinks that Cassidy is the WORST emcee on this list based on skill alone? Stand up and defend your choice. Watch the battle btween Cassidy and Freeway and tell me with a straigh face that Cassidy is worse than Pras, Eon, Silkk, or even U-God!

Do I like U-God more than Cassidy? Yes. Would I rather hear a U-God song than a Cassidy song? Yes. Has U-God been involved in probably the best hip hop group of all time? Yes. Has U-God had more guest apperances on classic songs and/or classic albums? Yes. Based on emcee skill alone, not looking at subject matter or production of songs, is U-God more talented than Cassidy? No.mud wrote:u-god is a million times better than cassidy

Sixtoo does not belong on this list. I can understand how some people might not like his voice or they might think he is too monotonous sounding, but he is an excellent writer. Personally I think his voice is cool and he isn't really as monotonous as some think since he has laid back songs and songs where he sounds more enthusiastic like 'Grimey Inks the Moment' and most of the vocal songs on Antagonist Survival Kit.
