So "Soundbombing II" Turns 10 today.
I'm pretty sure Wikipedia is wrong and this dropped on 5/18/99 as I recall having to wait in line for about a half hour behind a gaggle of girls buying Backstreet Boys' "Millennium" on the same date.
So how about this record? A great snapshot of the time. I also remember the final months of the pre-Viacom BET having "1-9-9-9" in heavy rotation to the point when it was number 2 on the Rap City countdown (with the KRS-ONE intro that I've been trying to track down for years) and debuting at #30 in Billboard.

Jeff's a nice guy. I'd classify the dropoff as enormous.djjeffresh wrote:big dropoff from the first one.
The first one had at least 10 keepers, whereas, I think I'm only feeling three or four tracks on the second volume. "Next Universe", "7XL", and "1-9-9-9" are quality tracks, obviously.
"Soundbombing II" marks my cut-off point for anything Sadat X related.

Perhaps I'm in the minority with my opinion, then.
I never really got into "Patriotism".

I remember being really pissed off that the Thirstin Howl song was just one verse.
In fact, a lotta shit on this record pissed me off. I considered it a big disappointment compared to the first one as well. B-boy Document, the Diamond D joint, and the Medina Green stuff was particularly annoying to me. I used to count how many times the MG cats actually rhymed in a verse.
7XL, 1999, Patriotism, and Stanley Kubrick were the standouts to me.

Glad to see "7XL" get so much love in this thread, that's always been my favorite.
