If drizzle came to the forum and said, "Hey, I just realized something amazing: two plus two equals four!" he would and should be mercilessly clowned for "realizing" something that most people learn or discover themselves before they are in the first grade.Mindbender Futurama wrote:yeah, I expected someone to say that. I CERTAINLY don't expect people to adopt my radical perspective. But the thing is, DON'T COME AT ME TALKING SHIT ABOUT MY PHILOSOPHY IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TALKING SHIT AT YOU.
I'm in plenty of threads making jokes, admiring women, talking about movies and doing other normal stuff and not smashing people over their head with my philosophy. But there's enough "beautiful truth" jokes and personal stabs my way for me to reply how I feel. You want to judge me? Then I'll judge you. I call it like I see it, apparently exactly how you do to me.
You see a delusional hippie alien psychopath? I see a heartless, cynical, walking dead, pessimistic devil. I know you're more than that though, Reggie.
So know that I'm more than your incomplete opinion of me, too.
don't start none, won't be none.
and you guys KNOW you start shit with me a million times more than I start shit with you.
nobody gotta believe a word I say. but ignoring it is better than talking about it. cause if people want to start talking about my philosophy and try to break it down and break ME down, then you got a war on your hands that you won't win. I promise my love will outlast your hate. Or I'll die trying.
If his response to this clowning was, "You can't deal with my mathematical genius, you're all hating on my hypothesis and furthermore you are all dead inside because you can't grasp the inherent beauty in two plus two equals four," then he would sound like a fucking idiot because most people can completely grasp the concept that two plus two equals four, and that there is no "inherent" beauty, in fact there is nothing more to two plus two equals four than two plus two equals four. If you find beauty, or horror, or anything in that formula except for two digits resulting in a sum, then you put that there, it is not something obvious.
This is similar to what you're doing. You preach a half-baked, solipistic set of ideas that, for many, were thought up and discarded before puberty ended. In fact, the "we are all Gods in our own right" appeals mainly to teenagers and armchair philosophers because it belies their actual powerlessness to effect any change in the world around them--kind of like how a lot of teenaged kids go straightedge, when the reality is that they can't buy alcohol or get laid very easily anyway. So, we laugh at your puerile, immature, and rehashed idea. If it was something new, or useful, then maybe you'd get another look. But it's not. It's the kind of shit cigarette-smoking kids with trench coats that live in suburban tract housing think up because mom won't give them a ride to the mall.
But you know, if you having a hippy-dippy philosophy was it, then that wouldn't be too bad. I am sure there are other registered users on the forum who believe some shit that is really out there--though they have had the prescience of mind to keep it to themselves and not reveal whatever personal shit gets them through the day. It's your insinuations that: 1) you are doing us a favor by labeling us all gods in your eyes, 2) claiming that we are embittered if we can't see your beautiful truth, and 3) acting like you should be immune to criticism when you do post the same tired old shit every day. "I touched a boob! Another beautiful day in heaven!" There's being optimistic, and there's being idiotic. You fall in the latter category.
