Rethinking wanting to move to NYC after seeing this. I'd rather live in rural West Virginia than anywhere within 15 miles of this cesspool. LOL at biggin' up tanning salons and fist pumping. SMFH.
Well at least Jo Jo was good for something.

JJP is dope, sick lyrics, sick flow & so what he's reppin where he's from, at least he's not frontin like alot of rappers do. It's also known that his uncle is a wise guy, so all that Italian mafia shit he raps about is probably real.

How the fuck is Hustle celebrating people not fronting when that would be a pretty apt description of every song of his I've ever heard? Authenticity matters when it's not you?

Just to clear things up, and though I've probably said this before I hope I'm not alone here, the thing that upsets me most about Cage's latest work isn't the subject matter. It's the fact that the lyrics themselves went completely downhill. I mean you could literally map out how his rhyme schemes and overall delivery progressed and matured from Movies For The Blind to Hell's Winter, but then on Depart From Me it's like he just threw all that out the window.

For the most part I try to keep my negative criticism to a minimum and if I don't like something I'll usually just say it isn't for me, but Cage was always one of my favorite rappers simply because he had sick rhymes and a sick voice, so it fucks me up hearing shit like this. His rhymes were at their best on Hell's Winter and on Depart From Me they're worse than I could ever have imagined.

agree with all of this. though I think his best rappity rapping is on Leak Bros.

Actually, if he kept the bombastic pop choruses of this last album, but actually rapped the verses like he gave a fuck about rhyming I would probably really like it. This way it's barely listenable.

And the worst thing is that he still has it probably, he just thinks that by rapping retarded nursery rhymes to emos he's going to make money. Take "blood boy" for instance, it's a track from the same post Hell's Winter time period and it's sick. Also his verse on that one Weathermen track that came out was great too.

Word, I don't doubt for a minute that he's still got it.
There's this song RebornMix2.0, which I think might've been on some video game soundtrack. If I remember correctly I got it from his website. This is another example of incredible post Hell's Winter work (and it's produced by el-p). Check it. http://www.divshare.com/download/13143139-5e7

Also, I'd agree that some of his most ambitious flows appear on Leak Bros, still though, like I was saying, a progression from Movies.

have you ever heard of dms ??? u obviously dont know what ur talking about. yes slaine has a very big following in hardcore/punk. theyre huge in that scene n slaine is apart of it.
i dont care what people like or dont like but curious as to see what about his material is boring?

@hustle you cant change peoples minds and you getting heated or defending it is waste of time and energy homie. people gonna hate regardless. to each their own
yeah slaine is down with dms but that doesn't mean he has anything to do with hardcore.
here's the the 133 page-deep hip-hop thread from the most popular hardcore label's message board (which is FROM BOSTON, mind you) and there might be like 2 slaine posts.
stop fronting like this is what a slaine gig looks like:

his shows def dont look like that but there def are mosh pits and shit n a lot of punk kids. and they mostly follow him or got put on to him for his dms affiliation hes not like a staple in the punk scene or anything.

Ive been a Cro Mags fan you fuckin faggot, Ive also been to numerous hardcore shows, I got friends in hardcore bands, You have NO IDEA what you're talking about. You obviously aren't on the scene at all, you're one of those flamers who HATE online. I'd like to see you at a hardcore show so I can cave your face in.

I never said SLAINE was apart of the hardcore punk scene, but underground ground hip hop & hardcore scene coincide with eachother, hence NECRO IS MANAGED BY " FERRET MANAGEMENT" one of the biggest hardcore management companies and also why numerous hardcore musicians have collaborated with underground rappers.

All I know is "Depart from Me" and "Movies for the Blind" pretty much charted around the same when they were released. It took a lot more than 2000 units a week to chart on the Billboard 200 back in 2002, though-probably 5000 minimum. And it was a lot harder for independent rap releases to have the right distribution to get the first week charts edbut/Soundscan numbers. DFM seemed to have a lot of hype and then sunk without a trace. Cage now has a Hollywood star for a friend, but who the fuck is talking about Cage, let alone buying his music or going to his shows? I admit I am out of the emo loop, but I don't think Cage is popular at all. Last I checked he was still playing small ass shows like a whole bunch of other indy rappers or opening up for irrelevant indy rockers. I remember him complaining about what he was getting paid to open up for more popular ( at the time) indy-emo-rock-rap artists during the Hell's Winter era. But is anyone going to a Cage show? I don't think he was ever that popular but he had a certain appeal that peaked 8 years ago. He complained about not getting paid by Eastern Conference. Then Def Jux overvalued him and put out some shit that failed to earn any new fans and alienated his old ones. FWIW, I was defending Cage when everyone was calling him fag/emo for not looking like a fat 12 year old wigger anymore.

If he IS making more money these days, then good for him. With all his past complaining about money, lack of output/ticket sales, and being "unemployed"- somehow I doubt it.

Relax man, you're totally validated now. I mean you got friends in hardcore bands right? No one is going to question you again.

Now tell us about the last time you caved someone's face in at a hardcore show and link us some more videos.
