Yes, because in terms of memorable introductory guest appearances in hip hop history most people think:

1) Nas on "Live at the BBQ"
2) AZ on "Life's a Bitch"
3) Reks on "Virtuoso's Album"
lol i see what you did there

He got busted for drugs last week. Sid Vicious.

No, I think he epitomizes the type of meek throwback bullshit I despise. He has no kind of finesse or sense of style on the mic whatsoever, just a nonstop barrage of weak lines meant to fill up space. Totally uninspired. He isn't wack but he brings absolutely nothing new and he displays the kind of generic blandness that some of you here would vilify if he was spitting on commercial tracks on got BET rotation and wore stupid pop rapper clothes.

I'm cool with you guys having your "comfort rap" just don't sell it to me like it's anything special.

As a self proclaimed connoisseur of throwbork rap, I think he's definitely in the upper echelon of this proud genre. He's at his best when he writes depressing stuff.

I like Reks, but he aspires to be what Royce once was, which was still unfinished business.

Iz out.

Ghostface - Purified Thoughts - Produced by Frank Dukes

Reks - This or that - Produced by Statik Selectah
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhBMcBrLUBA

While Pete killed it with The Joy*, Thin Line is pretty boring.

ג€œI actually had that beat since 1997. Iג€™ve been sitting on it for years.ג€ Figures.

Halfway through I'm getting a feeling that this is "just another leaked album".
Resolved Question
Does Biggie Smalls hate HipHop???

"Shoulda been a cop, Fukc Hiphop"

I've been wondering what he meant by this.
Additional Details
Rap sucks, HipHop is better

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
Naw, he likes hip hop and rap. He was just referring to if he hadn't started rapping he would've been a cop.
So he's cursing it, not that he doesn't like it, just for the sake of it.

I liked that This or That song/vid. Beat was dope and his flow was impressive. Not someone I am really interested in hearing an album of, since the last one was not my style, but fairly impressed by the one or two tracks I have heard.

just gave the album a spin. Wasn't really feeling it. A lot of ok songs. And beats were for sure pretty boring.

That Underdog song is dope as fuck though.

& at him mentioning waka flacka on the record at least 3 times.

yer beats are a little skim.

pete beat sounds 97 pete. not mad. not especially geeked either.

preme beat decent except for annoying ring shit.

classic alc.

hitek's 'wonder years' beat the favourite, wish it were a touch dirtier.

nottz beat sounds nottzy. fun.

'kill em' ruined by shitty 'college dropout' snare.

statik beats haven't changed my mind about him.

beats must've cost a penny, hopefully reks recoups so we can hear him over more big name production.

fair point about him attempting old-era royce. fine by me.

Ok so i actually bothered to listen to this carefully. The beats are underwhelming, though most of them aren't straight up wack. REKS does his best with the material given to him. Up to this point i wrote him off as a multi-addicted no personality true school failure, but he's not nearly that bad. At times he's pretty engaging. Not quote there yet, but i think he has the potential to make a great record or two before he retires. Here's hoping he'll take feedback seriously and work on it.

Great song from his first album (beat is dope too). I suppose this would be the place to post it:

I picture someone saying this like a David Letterman's top ten list. With Dave giggling after each one.
