Beats is pretty cool. Prodigy and Havoc aren't bad. Hook blows. Nas sounds great.

No, but this song sure is.

Prodigy sounds borderline wack, Hav only slightly better. Chorus is awful.

Nas still helping the little duns, good to see.

i'm curious if this song sounded exactly the same but people didn't know Nas or Mobb Deep or Alchemist if people would still be thinking this was tight...

Track is weird, Nas sounds good over this beat, P and Havoc don't.

LOL @ ex-skaters who missed out on this kind of music when it was good and relevant desperately trying to salvage this middling crap a decade and a half after the fact.

I don't think anyone was expecting Eye for an Eye. Honestly, based on anything I heard from Mobb Deep in 7 or 8 years, this actually exceeded my expectations. Of course, that mostly has to do with Nas - without him this track is very weak- but the beat is dope, and Prodigy at least sounds like he remembers how to rhyme. He had moments on the Return of the Mac and HNIC 2, but you all know what I mean. The hook here is pretty weak, but it could have been much worse.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, and hopefully it gets better. I won't hold my breath, though.

It's tracks like this that make me realize exactly how tough it is to achieve any sort of longevity in this game. As much as people shit on Nas, his game is still tight, even on a throwaway track like this. Prodigy's words are rhyming but that is about all you can say for him, I never want to hear that verse again. Havoc is in neutral, as always.

The other day I realized I have no interest in a new Redman album and, sad to say it, have reached the point where apparently, I no longer buy Ghostface Killah albums. I did not buy the last two. Five or six years ago, Ghost was the GOAT imo...

I still check for Nas though, in fact, he has steadily moved up my GOAT list based on the fact that he is still being creative, still taking risks, still hungry artistically.

Shook Ones discovered, wow, I wonder what Survival Of The Fittest is now?

This is very interesting due to the old arguments over the Shook Ones sample.
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€
