Is there any way I can get that hour of my life back? Mixtape is utterly pointless.

What, me, drizzle and COOLEH? That would be a force to be reckoned with, right?

Seriously though, you've gotta be pretty angry/jaded/batshit to hate on Camp Lo acapellas blended perfectly with Pete Rock instrumentals.

The Double Doors blend is way better than the original. That shit stays on repeat.

I understand you're a mod here and possibly something of an authority on 90s hasselhoff as far as the bloggers go, but really, lighten up, that's all.

the mixtape was disapointing in that it only featured one "new" Pete Rock/Camp Lo track which was the single "Mic Check" but nontheless it was an interesting listen. it also gave an insight into how Camp Lo will sound over Pete Rock beats, especially with the "NY's Finest" beats which represents more recent Peat.

For years I'd been tortured by my own ignorance. "How might annoyingly loud Camp-Lo vocals sound blaring out over lush Mecca And The Soul Brother era instrumentals originally crafted with subtler vocal performances in mind?" I often wondered aloud, perhaps to an invisible all-wise deity.

This is dope, but is quality control so bad these days that no one said anything about the kick drum clipping every time it slaps? Shit is annoying.

Also, don't know how this one went under my radar, but here's the Freebass 808 Mixtape that came out last year.

Image

Suede from Camp Lo and The Apple Juice Kid, drummer/producer combine to form the group, Freebass 808, an intergalactic high of worldwide electric soundscapes. Pitchfork, Okayplayer and NahRight have all supported this group, with the debut mixtape coming from Mick Boogie and Mighty Mi, 7th Galazy/Psychic Energy.

Yeah, it definitely wasn't one of their finest hours. There were a few cool tracks though.

you honestly think this was accidental?

I haven't listened to any of the other leaks or the mixtape, just this song and I'm exciting because suede and cheeba sound pretty damn hungry on it.

I sent Thun the link to the comp of old Camp Lo tracks not on their first album but he didn't reply. Are you down with TROY? I can send it to you once i re-up it (links dead now)
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Me? I just started contributing so you're better off PMing Philaflava or Verge. That comp was great work btw. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to include it on the blog. There's actually a thread in the TROY forum about contributing to the blog (should be on the first page still). You could bring it up in there as well.

Can someone please re-up that Lo comp from the first page?
