The U-God Game

Post by Philaflava »

Name a group and then post the weakest link in the group. This goes for producers and emcees too.

For example, Pete Rock & CL Smooth is a group and CL Smooth is the weakest link. Group Home consists of Lil Dap and Melachi the Nutcracker. DJ Premier is not apart of the group.

I'll start off.

Gang Starr = Guru

Pretty Lou's role within the Lost Boyz remains unclear to me.

:larry: to both.
Nice & smooth is close cause , while greg nice is the more entertaining of the two, Smooth B is legitimately dope on that first album.
Danze is easily my favorite of the two.

Agreed. But to be fair, it is hard to compete with lyrical gems like "Achoo! What to do? Ten buck one, Timbuktu! I can't see a thing like Mr. Magoo. I'm hunting rabbits! Hicup."

Wrong. Prince Po outshines Monch 50% of the time. One of the most balanced groups ever.

Slightly edging out the senile old dancing dude who may or may not have done some chanting on the album.

oh thats bold. I'll give you that Prince Po held his own and was rarely severely outshined, but he was at least slightly outshined on the majority of tracks. Pharoah's vocal presence > anything Prince Po brings to the table.

Eightball & MJG - MJG
UGK - Bun B (he was the better MC of the two, but Pimp C kept the beats sounding right.)

Wrong. Let's list all the tracks they both rap on and assess individually.

can't really agree with this because they complimented each other perfectly. vordul's style on its own is too dense and subdued to be interesting for a full album and vast is too corny on his own, but together it's just enough of both styles to make it interesting for a full album.

You're prob right, but I suppose it's more a personal taste then. I will say I'm sure Vordul completely shits on Vast these days.
