and making outrageous claims.

all of them.

no really, who ever told consequence he was good? i blame q-tip over this more than the ATCQ break-up.

has anyone enjoyed a consequence song? Somehow Kanye bought into the bullshit and signed him. Now Kanye dropped him and he is dissing Ye and calling himself the "pure lyricist in the game today."

http://www.fakeshoredrive.com/2011/07/c ... cord.html/
Cons calls into Chicagoג€™s WGCI and offers a rebuttal to Pushaג€™s recent comments. He flat out states that Pusha canג€™t fuck him lyrically and declares himself the best pure lyrcist in the game today. At the end of the clip, he debuts his new G.O.O.D. Music/Kanye/Pusha diss over Pete Rockג€™s ג€œStraighten It Outג€ instrumental.
According to Pusha, the Clipse rapper made it clear that he has no plans to engage in a rap battle with Consequence, right after he took a light jab at the MC.

ג€œIt's really not -- It's not like a back and forth thing because it doesn't do anything for me.ג€ said Pusha. ג€œThe stuff he does isn't good, to me. I don't think you've ever been checking for it. Nobody's ever checked for it -- I've never checked for it and I'm a fan of rap. People I don't like in rap, I like they music and I've never checked for him."
add on.

I might be wrong but I want to offer up this theory: could've been that it was the luck of the draw for Cons. General consensus was not happy with Beats, Rhymes, & Life and Cons inclusion which followed him. Which just kinda plagued him afterwards when he did other shit. Don't think he's bad....I just think people remember him from that album so much, they say fuck it. Got up with Ye, shit still didn't pop off like he wanted with claims that Pusha bit his style. Unlucky as fuck.....

:err: :err: :err: :err: :err:

What happened to Skillz? Yikes. Never a huge fan, but he some dope tracks back in the day.

Yeah, Consequence get's blamed a lot for Beats, Rhyme, and Life, perhaps unfairly, but he's needs to calm down. Has anyone other then himself ever considered him a great lyricist? :wtf:

Holy shit was that terrible. Who is music like this for?
At least if it featured Joy Behar and Whoopi, it might be gloss' shit.

I mean, looking at the Tribe doc, even when they brought up that album when his name was mentioned, it was fucked up. It sounded like even Jive blamed him for that one . The second thing that happened was the timing of when his album dropped. It was too far in between from when his Cleaners mix tape came out (which was better than the debut album).

As far as that lyricist shit he's talking, I agree that he should relax. I bet the fact he hasn't gotten the same recognition like others on GOOD Music has him venting like this now. If it is true Pusha bit his shit, I could see why he's reacting like he is......

There was a sweet spot there for Cons when Kanye first started blowing up, they made a couple dope mixtapes together. It was apparent how much Kanye was learning from Consequence in that era. The album with "Don't Forget Em" was awright too.

That said, how could anybody not see this for what it is? Kanye got a new BFF and Cons is salty and on the verge of utter irrelevance.

When I hear Skillz these days I think he was the wrong who out of the Supafriendz to have any success. Danja Mowf was way more interesting post the From Where era.

What ever happened to him and Lonnie B?
They always overshadowed Skillz whenever they did radio appearances with him.

Okkid knows more, hopefully he'll shed light.

From what I knwo Danja got into producing beats but he isn't DanjaBeatz. Lonnie B went back to being a DJ.

I wouldn't recognize Consequence's voice on a track at this point.

I'd say 90% of rappers in the music industry have no business making music. Both old and new.

I mean look at what hip hop has become. It's just one big fucking joke.

To add to that, let me just say I don't give a fuck about the golden era and I don't cling/worship to dinosaur rappers either.

Thats fine. But you made a point in the thread that was kinda like "eh, ok". Saying we have shitty taste in music; which kind of wasn't even the point of the thread. Since we have bad taste......tell us. Who then?

I think it's a little bit sad that Cons has to make ridiculous claims to avoid fading into obscurity(see: The Game). The truth is though, he's always been okay as part of a duo on a song, but is not skilled enough to carry an album on his own. Like Phife and like Pusha T. I think he's a fairly good rapper, but his lyrical dexterity has never been something that's stood out to me. Still though, he carved out a niche for himself, and probably was extremely lucky to have a cousin as gifted as Tip, put him on. And Tips allegiance to Kanye will probably get this swept under the rug. I'd be surprised if Kanye said a word about this shit.

I cannot believe that Skillz is channeling the living ghost of Heavy D now - for a living. That's some serious tom-fuckery if I ever done seen it. Looks like he's eating well though.

Honestly bro, I prefer Phife to Pusha T, but I understand what you're getting at. My opinion is that Pusha T is wildly, wildly overrated and I can't even begin to fathom why. I've never liked him in the confines of a group and I certainly don't like him as a solo artist. I don't like his delivery and I don't like his voice. I think he's mad corny and he looks like Buckwheat yo. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But if you're going to look like Buckwheat, at least try to be as gangsta as Buckwheat clearly was.
