So we don't like Binary Star anymore? Wish there was an internet time-machine. MotU was a really tight album, don't see how the production is bland and it's certainly not limited to jazz-samples. It's not "lyrical miracle" either, they wrote competently about lots of different subjects. Oh well.

^ Agreed, and being a casual rap listener, ok, makes sense, but being big enough into hip hop to post on a message board dedicated to it and not hearing some of these acts is a serious facepalm event.

Ive never heard Kendrick Lamar rap a single bar.
i finally gave Kendrick a shot, he's good. Overly Dedicated is a good tape and Section 80 is a very good followup to it. I prefer Section 80 to O.D.

i havent said i have never heard Camron so it was maybe not fitting for this thread i said i have never heard an album by him, have heard a song or verse here and there.
i thought i haven't heard a DMX song in its entirety but ive corrected myself. never dug his rapstyle that much and hated the Swizz beats production i don't see a reason to check him out now

is there anyone still listening to DMX in 2011?

I still listen to DMX's first album. It's one of my favorite albums. Think I gave it the #10 spot when we did lists earlier this year

I think Dark is better but only slightly. I just hate that one song with Drag-On so much on the second album.

Both albums are great

DMX should've never stopped using Dame Grease.

Swizz Beatz production is very hit or miss.

It's crazy how much it sounds like a Saigon song (I Know Why...). Only way better.

Nobody hated on fucking binary star. People are so emotional about late 90s underground shit.
