That means you're driving too fast...and with the sun out. This is creeping and stalking music.

Above I meant I don't know the song names cuz I haven't taken it out of the whip. Been studying the rhyme patterns and metaphors some more today.

Listening to Ironworks for the first time. A few songs in. D.n.a. is a monster song and bold way to start an album.

So far Grief Pedigree has the edge, but this mean bass is def making my subs shake in the crib. The drums on some of the tracks really bang. Going to test it in the whip later.

grief pedigree has far superior writing in both lyrics and overall songwriting sense. it's not even close. iron works is like a practice lap for grief pedigree.

:shit: Iron Works is "harder" than Grief Pedigree... Aint shit off Grief Pedigree touching "247365", "Stay Gutter" or "Ace Boon." Those joints got that tradional ruggedness I appreciate.

if your'e looking for traditional ruggedness from GP you're kinda missing the point. the dude explicitly does not give a fuck about adhering to any kind of traditional eastcoast boombap tropes. he's trying to evolve beyond them.

the beats are very much secondary to the writing too, as far as his focus and emphasis goes.

I totally agree which is why I said Iron Works was "harder," GP is way more cerebral and I appreciate it for that. I'm just commenting on personal taste.

This is the vinyl only bonus track from Grief Pedigree. I used Audacity to chop it out of a mix (song starts about fifty six minutes into the stream) from these guys, who tagged it:

He's gotta do videos for the whole album at this point.

thats wild KA is doing all these videos and going completely unnoticed while Roc has no visuals at all(to my knowledge) and is all over the place right now..at least on an indie level..

i wouldn't say ka is going exactly unnoticed, cold facts has 30000+ hits on youtube, some of the others have about 15000. his first vid debuted on complex. his rep is building slowly, just like the album's strengths reveal themselves slowly.

but you do make an excellent point about roc, i didn't notice it before. he really has no video at all for his own stuff. only one i can think of was for scarecrows, and i think that only exists because that's a Telemachus song with Roc just doing verses

thats whats up his views are up like that. definitely well deserved. i just meant unnoticed as in i have never noticed his name mentioned anywhere but on this board.

The name itself is impossible to search anyways. Without this thread i'd know nothing about his music. Hopefully those views/sales keep climbing. both albums are good.
