Yep. I'm gonna try to avoid any further leaks/songs until it comes out.Gregg Popabitch wrote:I'm not anticipating an album this year more than this. Every time I've heard something, I've been extremely pleased.

Me too. Having taken some time off from really closely following rap and coming back to it - it's amazing how much more I enjoy shit in the long form when I haven't heard 4-5 tracks leaked on each project by the time it comes out. Certain things (like mixtapes tracks, freestyles, and maybe a single or track that didn't make the cut here and there) are fine, but it's hard to recontextualize a song I've heard 40 times into the context of an album after I've already played it out or become too familiar with it in isolation. The ILLatino wrote:Yep. This is a great idea. Speakerboxx was a great hiphop album that gets overlooked because of the whole TLB discussion, but these two could remake some of that.
Imagine those two going in over El-P, then some Organized Noise, a Andre beat (maybe even a feature) and whathavya. This is awesome.

this shit is just... Damn.
So glad this album lived up to the expectations.
The beats on R.A.P. Music >>>> the beats on Cancer 4 Cure - I think. But the fact that El put these two albums together and dropped at the same time is some real shit.

there's like, not one bad moment on the album. not one.
well, i think there was literally ONE lyric i was like "ehhh, that line coulda been iller, but it is cool."
besides that, i just had a PERFECT, uninterrupted-by-bullshit, enlightening musical experience. it IS possible. wow. Mike, you're a god amongst rats. and THANK YOU, BASED EL.
"Maybe our society IS SUPPOSED TO DROWN"
seriously, this album is gonna get showered in gobs of praise and joy from Pitchfork to Rolling Stone to even fuckin Murder Dog and any and all blogs from Nahright and all gully digital crevasses beyond.
so very deservedly so.
