If you dont like the original you have no business pretending to be a nas fan

Positive message is nice. But it does nothing for me. 'Life is good' is a nice sentiment but makes for terrible rap music.
1. Nas
2. Drake

that's pretty much it fam.

Seriously - anybody who actually think this is a good song in execution, is suffering. Theoretically you can agree with it, but the music is just awful.

I understand the point.

the song itself is not good.

the point/theme of a song/movie/episode/tv show may be agreeable to people but it doesn't mean that it is aesthetically pleasing.

yes. and that same subject may have widely divergent reactions, like most real art does.

I don't think there exists a single piece of art, music, or movie, that has 100% the exact same opinion and reaction to it.

Sorry, brah. Cain't. I like it. I even like the beat. Uplifting.

I'm playing this 20 times before I play a single song from Riff Raff, Meek Mill or Mac Miller

I apologize for nothing.

women need a diversity of voices that badly.

when's the last time you heard a woman rap about something like what Nas is talking about on this song? :killacam:

It's more storytelling, but a way better role model than any of the other femcees you mentioned.

Are you retarded? There's nothing wrong with having sex and being attractive. What kind of world do you live in?

Mb, others too, do you realize how much you are patronizing women? They don't need a "voice" or a "message" from rappers for anything. That's absolutely ridiculous. Women aren't helpless fools who need 'rolemodels'. Fuck.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Kim comes correct on this song. One of the best Brooklyn anthems of that decade.

Foxy made some good rap shit here.

:naswtf: how you gonna act like girls are more stupid than men? some of these new MCs sound like they have fucking grade 6 educations these days.

Nobody NEEDS it. But it's nice to HAVE. No one is an island.

Women are my role models too. I met Queen Latifah, and she's one of the nicest human beings I have EVER had a conversation with. An inspiring, and life-altering moment.

Music isn't just some dumb bullshit to put in the air for no reason. Why the fuck do you think people have concept songs? Why did Lauryn Hill and Common make "Retrospect for Life"? To help everyone who has ever dealt with abortion.

Nas is right: his voice has guided the growth of a generation of Black men, and boys/men in general, in America since 1991. Some people DO listen to rappers more than they listen to their parents. There are lots of guys in New York that probably want to be Shawn Carter more than they want to be their own real life father.

"fuck what you haters say/ my ass is still the fattest" is the only :bunk: thing I don't like in this song. Cheapens the sentiment. Otherwise

Way to edit out the "almost", though. I'm merely taking about the story-telling aspect of her songs and also the way she chooses her words and subjects.

If being a female slug is too much for :phila: , then I'll say she's at least very inspired by him.
