I feel the album is evened out. Starts out tuff. Hits a climax (n/h) at Don't Die, slows down for one track and hits another climax (n/h) at Butane, and ends as an album should with the last three tracks.
The sequencing is perfect.

I like the album, it's good, but I think overall after this and El' new album I'm honestly a little disappointed with his production for the first time ever.
Sounds like he's hit a comfort zone with that super hard drums + synth style and it doesn't sound to me like he's taking that many chances anymore.
usually when El did production on a whole album ever beat had it's own very clear identity, for the first time I feel like some of the beats on both these albums sound similar to other ones on the album and kind of retread the same sonic ground.

noz talks to el-p about making beats. putting it in here because they talk more about the album with KM than his solo

I'm fairly sure that will be the consensus. But all of them are worth hearing. Pledge 2 and Monster are my favorites aside from this.samdoom wrote:having not heard all of mike's previous solo efforts, i still can't imagine this isn't his best, and most cohesive, to date.
