I checked the Amazon page, he's on 3 songs and the snippets sound great. I just wish Copy wasn't on every song :copy:

just played a show in Johannesburg last night.

They really, really, really love Copywrite and MHz here.

Also 47.4% of the women here look like Jean Grae.

really happy about hearing new tage proto. anyone know if he ever dropped any solo stuff -- loose songs even? i know he made cameos on a few joints since Table Scraps, maybe held down an RJD2 song or two by himself, but other than that, i've heard nothing

I thought he sounded more inspired than he has in a long time on the "Gone" joint.

beat is hot garbage. I miss the fuck out of Camu (semi-homo), but I don't have high hopes for this. Even tho table scraps was my shit when I was a tender young teen with stock in Jansport.

Tage dropped a solo cd in '07. Me and my homie dj detox spun for the release party. Unfortunately I was unable to acquire a copy. I will see if I can dig one up somewhere.

Shit, according to his website, he's got 2 albums. http://tagefuture.com/?page_id=11&gallery=albumcovers-1

The Rise & Shine EP and Highly Recommended Vol.1. I've never heard either.

...and then there's this:

Man Bites Dog Records is proud to present the Official Music Video for "Got to Make It" off of Copywrite God Save the King LP. The Video directed by Seanie G, shows actual police footage of Copywrite being arrested for a DUI & resisting arrest. Both Man Bites Dog Records & Copywrite do not condone drinking & driving.

That's pretty damn dope. I'm legitimately amped to hear this album.

Sluggo sounds fuckin great over RJD2 production actually ... Wouldn't mind hearing more collabos between them two.

Always been a big fan of Copy. His last album's probably his best yet. He did kind of fuck his career up by trying way too hard to be G'd out and getting KO'd on camera.

By the way, Icon - are things cool between you and him?

I built up some pretty high expectations after hearing a few songs, and now, having heard the whole thing, I can say this album does not disappoint. It's great to hear that the same chemistry that made MHz's earlier work so good is still there. Plus, everybody involved in the project demonstrates legitimate artistic growth.

Does copywrite have overly sentimental verses about getting off drugs and embracing god? Yes
Are some of RJD2's beats way more club-friendly than what he was making at the start of his career? Yes
But do both artists continously kill shit thoughout the album? Without a doubt, as do Jakki and Tage.

The Mu memorial track "Tero Smith" gave me chills.

Even all the guest features work well.

If you're one of the fans who like myself, stopped checking for copywrite because he's been repeatedly clowning himself for near a decade, give this a chance. I'm not by any means saying it excuses all the bland shit he's made since High Exhaulted, but if you sleep on this simply because of that then you'll be missing out.

Also, anybody who frequents the battle rap sticky should enjoy this.

Peep:

Are there some bubblegum hooks that make me want to renege on a lot of what I just said? Yes, but I can deal.
