Sorry, bro, I no longer reside on the industry's cutting edge.

at 0:08, sample for "76". I thought he sampled some chick's voice off some Indian record or something. LOL.
That is some serious digging
thats a dope old tune but what part of 76 used it? It does sound like something Roc would use, absolutely, but i don't hear it on 76. I though it was all 10cc "Im Not In Love"?
My bad, I meant "Deeper", not "76"

Anyone have any theories as to why this album is inspiring so much sample digging? Surely there are other rapper/producers who've been celebrated on :phila: without getting the same treatment. I'm not outright saying it shouldn't happen (though a good part of me does believe that once you figure out an uncredited sample source you keep it to yourself); just wondering why it hasn't occurred more before I guess.

 wow...what a truly ill sample, I had no idea that the sample was the drums and the vocal and the piano part.

mention of esoteric soils this thread worse than a bucket of aids liberally splashed around a sterile environment

At this point the Peru/Thread Count back to back is my favorite sequence. The lyrics are consistently great throughout, but those beats are on another level to me and the way Roc gets in 'em makes them special, special tracks. Driving around with 'Thread Count' on in the system>>>>>>>>>>>>

The one thing that's disappointing to me is that 'My Persona' didn't make the album, I have a playlist with it and a few other songs added after the regular bonus tracks and even though I've listened to it more than any of the other tracks it still feels fresh. To me 'My Persona' is a signature Roc Marci song and deserves to be on an album, but it's probably due to sample clearance or some bullshit.

bro-sign on "my persona" being one of the best tracks he's done and deserving placement on the album

if someone with the skill and tools could put a nice bass bumping drum break over/under "We Ill", that'd be dope.

From the song Flash Gordon:

"Be as lonely at the top
The watchband is croc
The palace is a camelot
Don’t ride the camel when it’s hot
They channeling Pac"

Is this verse aimed at Jay-Z?

Kinda made me think of this... Image
'I suppose everyone has their own limit, but some things you simply can never stop fighting for.'

looks like roc is taking cues from sean p and selling guest verses while he's hot to just about everyone.

4x on My Persona. Listened to the song over 100 times easily. My favorite Marc song probably. Still haven't heard Reloaded however.
