^ Always thought those were the two stand-out tracks too. Honestly, I never really appreciated this album beyond summer 03. It was great then and I have a few friends who put it on at virtually every social function, but I just can't fuck with it on that level.
I honestly prefer the Get Rich or Die Trying Movie Soundtrack. Better beats.

Can't fully co-sign. But yes, that soundtrack is one of the best G-Unit releases and is generally under-appreciated.Versive wrote: I honestly prefer the Get Rich or Die Trying Movie Soundtrack. Better beats.
I'm gonna be hella controversial and say that "Poor Lil Rich" >>>> anything else on the debut.
Re: Get Rich Or Die Tryin' 10 year anniversary
loved all the mixtape stuff before it but remember being a disappointed with this album. That said, I was DJing mainstream clubs alot round that time and all the singles got heavy play every time.
Also, it has some good personal nostalgia attached to it as I went to NYC for the first time not long after it dropped and 50/G Unit was everywhere.

Blew my mind when I found out the Hommo guy 50 mentions on Many Men as the person who shot him was the Darryl Baum guy Tyson talked about in the classic "praise be to Allah" post-fight interview with Jim Gray.

Many Men and (maybe) If I Cant are probably the only 2 I'd want to hear these days.
Had some shitty quality G Unit MP3s in rotation recently - 50/Banks/Yayo over shit like The Blast, Losin Weight, CREAM etc is always good

50 top 10 time :
1. I Run N.Y freestyle (*)
2. I'll Whip Ya Head, Boy
3. Rotten Apple
4. Many Men
5. True Loyalty
6. Window Shopper
7. Ski Mask Way
8. Ghetto Qu'ran
9. 50 Shot Ya freestyle
10. Rowdy Rowdy
(* The outro is some of the coldest shit-talking in the history of rap and was directly responsible for Jada's breakdown on Hot 97. Not only that, it was the chief inspiration for my bodying of Hustle Crowe over his dead friend Kenny)

Patiently Waiting is also a great song, and Eminem murks it
None of 50's album were as good as this. Jay-Z syndrome
I Run NY freestyle was fucking amazing for real
50 Cent is still the biggest boss hip hop has seen thus far

Fucking awesome album. Lotta good memories associated with it. Gonna give it a spin tonight.

Yea, Eminem kills that track. That is how Em should rap all the time. Pretty sad when you compare it to his recent stuff.Mindbender Futurama wrote:Dap wrote:Blockhead wrote:Heat>>>>>

Ghetto Quran is the most appropriately titled rap song of all time, in that it is holy scripture that has been analyzed millions of times by scholars who come away from it left only with more questions than answers. I also believe that the only man to truly understand that song in its entirety is Magneto.

UBM CD COMING SOON
Re: Get Rich Or Die Tryin' 10 year anniversary
50 Bars is his best joint by some distance. i had hopes for a solid comeback a few years ago when he dropped Play This On The Radio and Shut Ya Bludclaart Mouth back2back but it wasnt to be.
Also, Hustlers Ambition is dope. Still not convinced that the beat isnt a leftover from a track that didnt make the cut for Efil4Zaggin

Re: Get Rich Or Die Tryin' 10 year anniversary
I just re bought it and bumped it like it was 2003, Can't really pick a stand out track which made me realize how much impact it had on me as a kid listening to it, 10 years later with so much more education in life and music I can still put on GRODT and gangsta the fuck out.
Re: Get Rich Or Die Tryin' 10 year anniversary
i still cant believe its 10 fucking years old, where does time go
