Good shit. Glad T.R.O.Y is popping again.

List really could do with Case Dismissed by Pretty Tone Capone because N.Y rap gets no grimier than this :

Bloody Money is undisputably a NYC street anthem and should be listened to at a high volume while drinking Hennessy or cleaning a fire arm.

was just banging "Walk In NY" in the whip today. Phenomenal grimey track. I would include Gemini's "Brooklyn Kids (Remix)." Also "Bloody Money" & "True Confessions" are NY classics in general besides being Grimey.

I would have chosen "Stick To Ya Gunz" or Screwball "F.A.Y.B.A.N" over that 50 Cent that is for sure.

Nas, Cormega & Kamakaze 'On The Real' - the first version that was on the Bad Boy mixtape Vol 3 with Puffy shouting over the intro - should definitely be up there. The slight distortion on the tape and bootleg vinyl just adds to the grimyness.

(the remake Nas did for the Illmatic 10 yr anniversary sucked in comparison)

Don't be that guy. And 3 is there, it was just bunched together by accident.

Because the list omits one song you like, it's a fail? Fag.

Nice list

Some personal favorites:

UN - Russian Hat Wear
Onyx - Last Dayz
Lake - No Happy Ending, 30/30
La the Darkman - Gun rules
CNN - Neva Die Alone
Children of the Corn - Biscuits and Bangers

I would substitute Blood Type for the Tragedy track

Glad he included Shabazz's Crime Saga. One of the most underrated songs.

Plus I was a bit taken back by him not only acknowledging him but adding him to the top 10. He had a few revised lists but glad this made it.

Sleeper pick posse cut :

"Who you gonna call? Toast busters!"

E-Money Bags w/ Nature & Kool G. Rap - Friend Of Ours

G. Rap's verse is particularly nasty and L.E.S's beat sounds like an out-take from The War Report.

Foul Cats is another good deep cuts G.Rap pick

you could basically do a whole separate top 10 (or 20) with just him

Would probably include I'm Flippin' by PHD too, if only for the number of bodies Poet caught in the video.

PHD - I'm Flippin'

Pretty sure this was the first N.Y rap video to feature cops getting blasted.

"This ain't no game, God, dump his body in the train yard
under the 7 line, we couldn't of picked a better time "

N.O.R.E w/ Nas - Body In The Trunk

Really want a Very Bad Things-themed sequel to this where Nas accidentally fucks a prostitute to death and N.O.R.E has to help him dump her body as payback for Nas helping him dispose of the body on the original. It'd be just like part 1, only with added perverted sex raps involving sticking bottles up asspipes by Nas.
