Deez Nuts is a new body of work, which began as a zine of the same name by Australian-born, Tokyo-based artist Mark Drew. Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts received a '90s hip hop makeover. For this exhibition, Drew has painted large-scale versions of the illustrations found within the zine.

not a bite exactly, but there are def strong parallels and this iteration is a bit lazy. i haven't seen all of them but it seems like he just juxtaposes a quote with a panel, the old oh word ones did a lot more than that with the idea.

pivoting on a heavy nostalgia for 1990s rap music.

within the zine. The works show Peanuts comics with lyrics from Nas, Wu-Tang
Clan, N.W.A, Gang Starr, Public Enemy and more, as dialogue. The combination

the reality is that shit like this isn't really worth chasing these days. the good part is that if this ever happens with my original work at my day job at IGN now, i have legal teams at my disposable.

either way, it's nice to have internet archives and dozens of people to back me up when somebody bites my shit. years later and oh word is still one of the dopest, most original projects i've ever been part of. i'm immensely proud of that.

actually, "yo, you're the guy that made the Cam'ron rhyme book, right?" got thrown around a bunch on my first day here four years ago. good, original work gets respect forever and that's all that really matters.
