If we're talking all-time, it's Pos.

Re: pick your favorite rapper
q-tip may not be the "best" rapper in the list but for me the most enjoyable

Re: pick your favorite rapper
I had to choose Tip by default because next to Nas is he is my favorite rap artist of all time. However there are many of my favorites on this list and some of the best rappers ever.

Re: pick your favorite rapper
wtf at Tip trouncing Puba, Monch and Pos
Re: pick your favorite rapper
The fact that Pos' name necessitated a parenthesis says a lot. Granted, Tip has a successful solo career, but even if he didn't, people identify Tribe as Q-Tip, whereas De La Soul, while almost as popular and even more heralded in some circles, isn't really identified by any one member more than the rest.
Pos is one of my favorite rappers of all time, probably only behind Rakim and Ghostface. Q-Tip has a much more impressive body of work, but his verses don't hit me like Pos'. Local biases are a deciding factor here, I suspect.
Finesse is the most consistently dope rapper up there. Of course, he's probably got the smallest catalogue as well.

Re: pick your favorite rapper
Q-Tip pretty easily, I'm not even a Tribe fan boy, but he's the most consistently great rapper on the list. Never sounds like he's going through the motions. Not rapping as much the last decade has surely helped his standing, plus his last album destroys anyone else's recent work.

Well, I don't really HATE HATE it. Not even lima bean hate. It just irks me a bit. I recognize yours as a necessary evil though, hence the greeting.Employee wrote:Don't waste your energy hating things or people; least of all me, guy.Versive wrote:I hate how similar our tastes are. Hi.
Re: pick your favorite rapper
After much debate (it came down to Pos, Tip and Pharoah for me) I voted for Plug 1. Tough list.

I reject this premise. Parenthetical was not necessary in the least. Pos is the answer pretty easily imo.The fact that Pos' name necessitated a parenthesis says a lot
